McGruder was taking too much time on Season 4 preproduction. Execs moved ahead without him. Turner execs and McGruder wanted his (Aaron's) name removed from promotional materials. They came to a conclusion. Season 4 came out with initially high ratings. Majority of the season was mediocre. Series ended with a horrible episode. Everyone has moved on.
