I did not care for the Monster High designs at all before it, be it flash, CGI, or toy. They had very old-fashioned, doll-centric look. Yeah the bond they developed in the series won't just disappear but at the end of the day Raven and Apple are two very different people. Fair enough, I've been around for a bit longer so I've grown to find the movies having a charm to them, and I've always been a fan of the dolls looks, I like the dramatic and dark looks.

The new movies are an improvement, incredibly so, though the online cartoons quality took a bad hit, they were never that good before but now it's a bit worse, the doll and fashion quality also took a hit, with only a few decent dolls. So I'm not as big of a fan of G2 monster high, only really the movies and maybe a rare well done doll.

It's easier to find fandoms with a higher amount of support for m/m or m/f ships, so a fandom that has a higher f/f ship popularity will probably be a bit more protective of it.

I ship rapple and I can see reason why some shippers are rather protective over the ship, it's a pretty well supported ship, coming from a canon show that is trying to push a very VERY boring hetero ship that is Dexter/Raven.

Though as a rapple shipper I do think some need to chill a little, because it's not going anywhere as the most supported ship, the boys are all boring as stale white bread, and the only competition is another yuri ship, being Darling/Apple.

But what i assume you mean, is the fandom. In that case no, mainly because we are not even close to the size of all of them.
