Lake of Fire is fucking amazing. I dunno why, it's simple as hell and doesn't exactly do much new, but it's just incredibly good fun.

The story takes place in the future, the main character is a detective with a painkiller addiction who's contracted by a mining corporation to investigate a death onboard one of their research vessels. The victim was a former friend of his, who went on to steal his wife from him.
It's pretty interesting, it's a closed room murder in space, with all sorts of intrigue going on in the background. It's also a 5 issue mini.

It only got very interesting in the last issue. I liked them all, they are my type of deep mystery book, but it's very slow. But the end of book 3 where he tells the detective his 'secret' was fucking amazing. I think the normal slow pace of the book made that scene really stand out.

Just read Cy-Gor (15 years too late, I know). I thought it was pretty good, the art is just gorgeous. Certainly got better after the first two issues. Maybe it's just me tho, it was cancelled after only 6 issues after all

Murphy is a master, he's so good his art would look incredible even uncolored(as evident by that director's cut/special edition/whatever. Without colors those Opena examples wouldn't be anything special. As for Craig, he has a minimalist style, if you want noodle people look at Tradd Moore. What Craig is incredible as is layouts, he pisses all over Opena in that department.

I do like Remender, I just find that I have trouble reading his independent stuff because the characters are all sad assholes and it starts to get to me.

Just read Jupiters Legacy and Circle.

Mark is a nutjob. I think Kick Ass and the first few issues of Legacy are bad- but boy oh boy is Circle fucking fantastic and Legacy becomes amazing after it drops the whole 'teens and social media stuff'

His love for Superman is very consistent when he writes him or his own versions like Superior, Utopian and such. His Supercrooks is classic edgy Miller but it manages to be entertaining because of good sense of humor. He is inconsistent but he is definitely not getting a ghost writer. Don't be so ignorant about his work.

Superior is good. Supercooks is good, Jupiter's Legacy/Circle is good. His run in Fantastic 4 is alright imo. I watched Secret Service instead of reading the comic so I dunno if the comic is good but the movie is great. Haven't started Empress or Starlight. Marvel 1985 is alright. Red Son and his Superman Adventures comics are pretty darn good. I've heard good stuff about his Swamp Thing.
Also avoid American Jesus like the plague. As well as Nemesis.

Just finished buying all the Manhattan Project Volumes and enjoying the ever loving crap out of them.

I'm enjoying East of Eden, Black Sunday Murders (Goddamn that Hurricane), the Descender, Deadly Classroom and Wicked + The Divine,

I am keeping an eye on Monsteress tbqh. I enjoy the art and although it's a bit edgy, it's an okay read and unless Liu does something bad I'll keep collecting it.

Secret Service, Kick Ass and Wanted are all better than the comic books they're adapted from to be honest. I guess whatever producers are surrounding those projects fix the potential problems from the comic books (pointless father subplot in Kick Ass 1 for example) and re focus the story- probably helps that Vaughn is perfect for that role.

You say avoid Nemesis, but honestly, it's pretty fun and looks great. My advice, go in expecting mind dumbing utter shite and you'll probably just enjoy the insane plot twists and brilliant art.

Empress and Starlight are both bad so far, but I thought the first Issue of Legacy was bad too, so.

Haven't started Superior or Supercooks, worth a buy or just read online? I recently bought Legacy and Circle after good praise.

I always found it weird how Millar could be terrible in two totally and completely different ways. Either his comics are edgy enough they end up being some rebellious teenager's concept for a comic like Wanted/Nemesis or his other comics are just completely bland and boring movie pitches like Kingsmen/Chrononauts.
