Guys...Time for a lot of what ifs, but hear me out on this one.
You know that Cyrrha theory people were throwing out there a few months back as a goofy little what if scenario? What if they weren't that far off, but it wasn't Cinder...

>A maiden can choose her successor by putting that woman in her thoughts as she dies, essentially joining her soul to the soul of the successor in order to pass on their power.

What if being anti-maiden also means the exact opposite effect as the maiden soul transfer?
What if instead of thinking about another woman while you're dying...What if Silver Eyes make it so that, if they're thinking about someone (Regardless of gender) while that person is dying, the silver-eyed warrior absorb their soul into their own body? Ruby was standing right there when Pyrrha died, activated her powers for the first time because Pyrrha died, even screamed her name when she died. It was clear that Ruby was thinking about nothing but Pyrrha in that moment.

What if the only reason Ruby was given a scythe was to draw parallels between her and the Grim Reaper (Both a literal reaper of Grimm, and a guide and protector for the souls of the deceased on their journey to the hereafter), so it seems more fitting when she claims the souls of others as they die? Perhaps keeping their souls safe from *Something* out in the world that usually claims souls when they die that we don't know about yet? Perhaps something Salem related?

What if these aren't dreams Ruby is having, but literally Pyrrha's soul crying out from inside of her, but Ruby has no idea how to calm her since she has no idea how her powers work? What if Silver Eyes allow Ruby to absorb the souls of others and use their semblances, increasing her power creep THAT wasy as the series goes on?

Unless Jacques was just moving his fucking knight back and forth, black has moved far too many times on that chessboard in his study for my autism to put up with.
