Revolution may be the start of one of the highlights of Kups billions of years existing.

All those years and Kup can still be surprised by a mere name. Though I cannot blame him.

>I like Windblade and I don't really get the "underdeveloped" complaint. She's a naive idealist who's having to constantly compromise her morals to get ahead. It's good.

I think the thing with Windblade is that she has a character, but she's very subdued. She's extremely cautious which I think is believable enough. Her people just found their homeworld which is unfortunately filled with a bunch of assholes who hate each other and cannot stop going to war after any excuse and now she's stuck in a heavy political career with the least trustworthy bot this side of Swindle's aft. She's very careful and uncertain about the right course of action most of the time, which is understandable. Make a wrong move and people can and will de.

This is what I think is making people say she has no personality. I must admit she isn't always the most compelling character, but I understand her.
>>
>>87304006
He probably thought it was cute.
Ian is like the grandkid Kup always secretly wanted. Springer is going to get btfo as his favorite.
>>
>>87304133
I just hope we don't have to wait for another Wreckers mini-series to pick up Springer and Verity's stories. I'm especially curious what exactly Tarantulas might have done to her. He cured her illness, apparently, but I have some pretty strong suspicions what else he might have done. He's not the kind to resist tinkering "under the hood", so to speak.
>>
>>87304326
My thoughts exactly.
I think Roche is the king of writing the Wreckers so I would want him co-writing whatever content that may be but yes, I definitely don't want to wait another 2-3 years for another Wreckers series. I'm also curious about Impactors whereabouts and the Chimeracons.Especially Carnivac who's design I love. His doggie nose coupled with the visor is all I ever wanted.
I also want to know what tarantulas is up to along with telling Springer that he's his dad and Prowl is also his dad.
>>
>>87304439
Springer finds out he has two dads. And they're both massive aftholes!

Welcome to IDW, pal.

Ian won him over by saving him, thinking he's the coolest shit ever, telling him he looked like a killer robot, and being very willing to listen to what he has to say.

Ian is like what? 23 years old? 19 at the least, he loves action and explosions, he is upbeat and everything is new to him. Kup loves telling war stories and shit about Cybertron which the other bots don't really care much about because they either have been there or it gives them bad memories but to Ian all that shit sounds cool.

The only thing is that Ian is that kid who loves doing crazy shit without thinking about the consequences ends up with a bruises and broken limbs. Ian scares and infuriates the shit out of his team on a regular basis so he's going to drive Kup up a wall.

It's also like Kup said to him "You got guts kid. I hate guts" Kup probably expects dealing with another Verity but compared to him oh man she has waaaaaaaay more sense at least.

What I am saying is that this is going to be a fun and cute dynamic with the potential of being full of feels, especially since Kup has a lot of pain and old wounds from the dead universe and the war and Ian still wants to redeem his friend who turned into his enemy and she's going to be kicking him into the ground like a hurt puppy.
>>
>>87304883
>Ian is like what? 23 years old?
He was in Sixth Form (18-19) four years ago, so he's 22-23, yeah.

Pretty sure Kup will learn his real name later on.
>>
>>87306185
I have the sneaking suspicion that Ian is like a kid with a new giant robot toy. Pretty soon though he'll get bored and wonder why Kup hasn't flown off yet to save them all from a nuclear missile.

>>87306956
It's the thing I'm most hyped about to be a result of Revolution! Unfortunately G.I Joe's tie-in got delayed YET AGAIN.
>>
>>87304883
Ian pretty much has all of the incorrupt sense of justice and untainted idealism that Cybertronians lost after so many years of war. While his recklessness will drive Kup up the wall he's sure as hell going to bring a lot of smiles to Kups face.
Basically Cybertronians are kind of depressing and Ian exhibits this happiness that seems to only be found on Earth. Maybe that's why Optimus likes it so much?
>>
>>87304525
Finding out your dad is Prowl would lead most to contemplating suicide.
>>
>>87307177
Hopefully he'll take it better than that! (but probably not)

Who's worse though? I mean, Prowl is Prowl, but Mesothulas is the dad who turned into a giant spider furry.
>>
>>87307089
>>87306956
You became too hyped and thus ensured that the Joes are going to be stuck with Seaspray.

Nice job, assholes. At least he and Deep Six can complain about how nobody has any cool underwater missions for them.
>>
>>87307260
Mesothulas just wanted to be a loving dad to his adorable son. Prowl sent his son into the army and continues to be an asshole, on the brightside he seems to have a soft spot for Springer since he is his joint creation.

>>87307519
Ironically the very first mission of the Joes seems to be underwater. Shipwreck would serve no purpose of they weren't constantly going beneath the sea.
>>
>>87307670
Funny thing is Shipwreck would just follow them anywhere even if they tried to stop him. He gives absolutely no shits.

"Goddammit, Shipwreck, we're in the Gobi Desert! You see any boats around here?"
"Hey pal, I know all about desert...ISLANDS! Polly, you spot any girlies getting tans yet?"
"For fucks sake, Shipwreck."

>Those pages near the end of SotW with Tarantulas' messed up speech bubbles gave me feelings. I still want to know all of what he was saying.
Same here. You could make out a few words though and that was "Love you" so basically he was telling his son that he loved him. Unfortunately Springer thought he was being attacked when in reality Mesothulas was trying to save him by throwing him out of that crevice. It breaks my heart, this shit show wouldn't have happened had Prowl just told Meso that Springer was their kid. It also sucks that Springer will eventually find out and realized that he killed his own father; he's literally the only Cybertronian with a parent!
>>
>>87308407
>realized that he killed his own father
Somebody didn't look closely enough at the last page with Springer and Verity.
>>
>>87308432
Though to be fair, easter egg and nothing confirmed. Fun story but apparently when Roche was writing that page he saw a small spider on it.
>>
>>87308432
Oh o I'm aware he's alive but Springer doesn't know that and probably won't know that until he does something crazy for ironys sake. Wreckers are written like Shakespearean tragedies at his point.
>>
>>87308650
Springer is aware of something. You think he doesn't wonder why Verity keeps mentioning the spider webs on his wheelhouse with the lettering that spells out, "UR SUM PIG" and etc?

Survivors Marvel UK.jpg
146KB, 792x559px
I like how Nick Roche setup Impactor and Carnivac's group for their next story. It's basically IDW's take on Marvel UK's Survivors team and story. Remnants of the Wreckers and Mayhem Squad form their own group and do their own thing away from both factions. Just with Impactor inside of Springer and more Mayhem members than Wreckers.
>>
>>87310194
>Impactor inside of Springer
Kinky.
>>
>>87310010
They came off less as assholes and more as the "strict guardian" figures. Especially since they're the torchbearers and all that.
>>
>>87310194
They need to just give the Wreckers an ongoing.
>>
>>87310637
I think it had to do with the Torchbearers being something very special in Camien society and afforded a rather high status...but not on Cybertron, and not insofar as the reader was previously aware. So they were acting in-character to their societal role in a place and to people, both in and out of universe, who didn't recognize them.

Did anyone else thought that Carnivac was gonna Beastformer up Stakeout. Everything with Stakeout in IDW is always off panel. Him being kinda being introduced in LSotW, his sacrifice to jam Tidal Wave's T-cog and him dying.
>>
>>87303916
Why did IDW editorial drop Kup needing his cy-gar? Didn't Kup get flashbacks after Dark Cybertron? Plus they never play up that his current body is based on Pretender tech.
>>
>>87311188
It's more like he didn't need it anymore. He lost it when he ended up in the dead universe, and he was cured of most of his issues after he was taken out of it.
>>
>>87311218
I would imagine that being surrounded by the living dead since the begining of the Dead Universe would bring back though flashbacks hardcore.
If anything, him finally learning the truth of killing fellow autobots and being mind-fucked by Prowl would relapse him hard also.

IDW Barricade was such a great character to read. One of the few cons that believe in equality and justice. Also basing his body on the War for Cybertron one was the cherry on top.
Personally, I love Slag/Slug as leader of the Dinobots. He got a lot of character development since Maximum Dinobots.
Also IDW's take on Strafe was nice too. Took the two-head dino premise from the live action films and gave her a legit origins and personality.
>>
>>87311568
I think Grimlock should be a permanent member of the Scavengers. They do need a heavy hitter and Misfire really has great dynamic/bond with Grimlock.
If anything Slag as leader and the 5th spot going to Strafe seems like the right direction for the group.

What else did Barricade in IDW do? I only remember him from Punishment but can't recall him doing anything else significant beyond that. I do like the guy though. Really wish he got developed further but at least his wife is okay and taking care of two kids.
>>
>>87311675
alluded to in the last Scavenger story with Fort Max. But he also leaked fluids on himself in the same arc beforehand.
But Grimlock and the secret gear symbol group is definitely going to be the story point when the Scavengers get to earth.
>>
>>87311640
Agreed. I just think the Dinobots as we knew it should get proper closure though and THEN he continues onward with the Scavengers. I at least want them to know Grimlocks status as a mental patient since that's something very shocking and still a mystery.
>>
>>87311692
Punishment had him talking with Optimus and went on a Fury Road adventure in Redemption.

No human would ever get tired of having a cool alien companion to share all there alien adventures with you.

The only tragedy here will be humanities short life-spans. Ian's life and companionship will be over in the blink of an eye for Kup.
>>
>>87313065
>No human would ever get tired of having a cool alien companion
Honestly. [s]If there's a benevolent god listening somewhere out there, please send me a giant robot friend[/s]

Imagine, decades from now, a retired Ian in his late twilight years hangs out with Kup again, still listens eagerly to his old war stories with that same childlike awe in his eyes. There's always something new to talk about, some campaign that was somehow forgotten before - it'd take more years than Ian could give for Kup to recount all the battles he's been in and all the shit he's seen. After Kup's finished, Ian remarks that he can finally give something back and tell some of his own tales; he's got plenty of his own stories now! He laughs, carefree, before launching into an animated retelling of That One Time, an old mission of his that Kup hasn't heard all about yet.

Kup decides not to interrupt him by telling Ian he's been giving back all this time -- that companionship, the loyalty, the friendship -- and that what Ian gave is worth more than all his old war stories. He just smiles along with him, and it hurts.

Because just like the majority of Scott's character there's really not much meat on her bones.

Roberts writes all his characters like Looney Tunes slap-stick wackos and then add some crippling mental disability to them for good measure so most of the time they feel either like a walking one-line factories or, on rare occasions, like actual deep characters.

Barber is damn good with characters when he's not being buttfucked by Hasbro or when he's not trying to limit himself in order to be different than MTMTE. Just look at his Action Man work or th White house Down: Thundercracker edition. He's fucking spectacular when he lets loose.

Scott? Everything is just so by the book bland. Everything feels like it's going though motions with no character of style to it. It's just bland writing altogether.

And since Windblade is the man character she gets piled on and that is superimposed on the fandom's hate-boner for her because they feel like Hasbro is forcefeeding her to us somehow because she just happened to be in a comic and a cartoon at the same time.

I like Windblade, I just want her in a better comic, with a better writer.

She is forced, her being in a comic and a show isn't an accident and neither is all the rest of the attention she is getting.

So what? She's the hot new character Hasbro likes just like Bumblebee was.

Transformers has a history of forced character because Hasbro thinks the audience wants them. Windblade is no excepetion.

In 20 year times she'll be remembered fondly while whatever the new character ends up being everywhere will be called "forced"

Please Sitterson just drop Krake. As for dapper CC, I thought he was elegant and cool. I have no quarrel with dapper CC but yeah I think a new CC is for the best and seeing how outrageous this Joe is going to be with its magic, sci-fi, and Transformers? I think we need a CC equally as outrageous (basically give me a commander that resembles the cartoon commander who was over the top and kind of a diva).

What are the best Transformers cartoons? Assuming I've never watched any of them before. Looking for something to watch a couple episodes of tonight.
>>
>>87332066
Transformers animated and Prime are fantastic.
The G1 cartoon is cheesy as all hell but it's charming.
Beast wars has awfully dated CG but it's a good story and has great characters.

Robots in Disguise 2015 is very cute along with Rescue bots.

Basically everything western is good, the Japanese continuity is where things are a little wonky between series.
>>
>>87331809
Looks kind of like he's wearing black lipstick.
>>
>>87332066
G1 is campy fun but don't look for anything awe-inspiring about it. It did have more effort put into it's voice work and composition than most other 80s cartoons though.

Beast Wars is viewed by many to be the best adaptation of the toyline into an animated cartoon. It's CG is very outdated but once you get past that it's a good time, especially when the series finally gets comfortable with itself and starts it's overarching plotlines.

Animated may put you off at first with it's character designs, but it's actually a pretty good show once you get used to it. It's actual animation is quite bad at times due to the limited budget they had to work with, but like BW it grows into it's own after the first season. Also was ended earlier than they anticipated so don't except every thread to get wrapped up by the finale.

I actually didn't care for Prime much, but there's nothing offensively wrong about it. Haven't watched RID or Rescue Bots but heard the latter is good for being a little kids series.

One warning has to be said though, don't go into Beast Machines without watching Beast Wars first, as the two series are interconnected and BM will make even less sense than it already does if you don't watch the former series first.

Stay away from the Cybertron trilogy (Armada, Energon, Cybertron) and the early 2000's Robots in Disguise is a completely different cartoon than modern RID. The earlier series is okay but nothing outstanding, and it has the best flying shark that writes haiku than any other cartoons that have flying sharks that write haiku.

It's one of those things that you read for the sake of knowing what happened and making inside jokes or references about.
The best part about it is that most people haven't read them.

I don't think most people who read exrid and MTMTE are even aware that Rodimus blew up his entire city and killed god knows how many people. The reasoning: I'll kill them before Sentinel kills them and uses their life force to charge up his gun.

>>
>>87334852
Everyone in IDW is insane. Megatron empowered an entire team of guys who can kill his other guys designed to destroy entire planets, and instead of using them against Autobots he just aimed them at his own forces. He also had giant Decepticon logo ships and his entire plan after winning the war was breeding. Lots and lots of breeding.

The Functionists were an entire group of form and function obsessed knobs who refused to let anyone change altmods despite that being one of their natural abilities.

The Senate used to punish transgressors by literally taking their faces, turning them into cyclopses with claw hands.

Galvatron was once a barbarian warlord who slaughtered furries by the millions on ancient cybertron. Doing Primuses good works there, Galvatron!

The Knights of Cybertron supposedly engineered a utopia. They then farted off into space to spread utopias. Civilization on Cybertron seems to have collapsed fairly soon after they left. Given there are no signs of any great utopias elsewhere attributed to them anything they built, IF anything, also didn't last.

Starscream actually lead the Decepticons for a time. He did such a great job they were dying from lack of energon and eating each other. He's still running Cybertron.
>>
>>87335218

I agree with most of what you're saying but fuck you the giant Decepticon logo ships were amazing.

>>
>>87335218
Nova's great achievement in a long line of great achievements was supposed to be finding crystal city with his merry band of guys who sounded like they were going larping with him. They befriended Omega Supreme. Sometime later Jhiaxus unveiled his own great achievement, the aptly named Monstructor, who merged from several other dudes. Galvatron was present and apparently didn't care, but his later revealed history is that he despised people who combined (specifically the Headmasters who were apparently merging with "beasts"). Monstructor and Omega were fucking up Crystal City with their fighting but Nova was fine with it and immediately hopped into his spaceship to spread his own idea of utopia...after leaving a raging monster behind that was fucking up his previous utopia.

And do NOT tell Jhiaxus that his creations are insane failures. He doesn't see that as a design flaw at all. This really explains Arcee.

They're all failures and weirdos and fuckups and nearly all of them have some over-the-top crazy shit in their past. All of them.

Oh. and I forgot the time Galvatron was tricked by a female robot that they realized because she was female was an impostor. She was actually a vampire zombie robot with multiple selves infecting other dimensions including screwing with Captain Kirk and Cobra. She later infected and kidnapped Kup who later personally became a living/unliving portal with the Dead Universe during Shockwaves master plan which... you know what, he and Nova would take way too long to explain.
>>
>>87335273

Probably? I mean does death even mean anything in IDW anymore? Oh sure for the rank and file, yeah, but I mean the big boys. If you're even semi-mystical or linked in any way to some kind of prophecy or whatever you're pretty much guaranteed you're an unkillable motherfucker. I wouldn't be shocked at this point if goddamn Nova pops up again out of one of the newly resurrected or maybe still undead Titans. At least we never found out what happened to the other duobot who was shoved into a wall but later got better.

For what it is worth, every single Cybertronian can technically be resurrected like Ironhide since they have a link to the core/primus/whatever. They're constantly having their knowledge and feelings, the essence of their souls, backed up on Cybertron's harddrives. Hell, even the entire planet itself was restored to an earlier version, at least for the most part. And Crystal City/various titans keep resurrecting. Mind you some of that was Shockwave's magic ore fuckery.
>>
>>87336277
FWIW the time traveller told Oz that the "sleeping giant awakens" or words to that effect. That's pretty vague but certainly interesting given the situation and a giant who is either dead but possibly still sleeping hanging around. Since he created Microspace presumably he could fix it if he were reactivated. There was a lengthy debate on this last thread, or at least it touched on it.

So far we've had the Engima of Combination as a relic of the Primes. It can merge anyone or uncombine them and even heal them, and Blackrock did some other incredibly tricky stuff with it. Micronus created his own mini universe and has a space bridge built into his chest, which is pretty unusual but not unprecedented. Shockwave built Megatron a body with a space bridge, though that one ended up biting him on the ass. At least it later came in handy to kill the DJD.

Alpha Trion has his knowledge but if he seems to have the short end of the stick on powers/relics he did actually restore Ironhide back to life (minus 4 million years of memories but that apparently wasn't his fault) and in Ironhide's vision appeared younger than he does now (if I remember correctly). He certainly has that degree of WTF about himself.

Sure it is hard to say if they are actually magical (as they pretty much are in Aligned) or just had some kind of incredibly advanced technologies, though either way that would make them special enough that normal rules like death might not matter to them. Optimus himself as one of the Trueâ„¢ Primes has The Touch (of Destiny).

Kind of bums me out that the only one who seems to remain dead is Solus Prime. At least she had an apparently intelligent holographic version in one of the Aligned novels. I know I'm mentioning Aligned a bit yet current IDW is obviously drinking very deeply from that well of allsparks.
>>
>>87336893
>Sure it is hard to say if they are actually magical

Outside of the G1 cartoon, and even inside of it once the Matrix becomes a literally magical cure-all Deus Ex Machina device, I'd say TF's are magic. They have magic space souls, some are "born" with outright superpowers, they have actual, multiverse spanning Gods, etc.

I'd honestly prefer them to be explained as technology and get rid of all of this magic space soul bullshit, but it's pretty obvious that is how TF's "work" and have worked for a very, very long time in the franchise.
>>
>>87336968
They follow the rule about any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic, and IDW sometimes uses that. Ironhide was restored from data on his spark. They all apparently send a constant stream to the source of their existence, rather like how the matrix code that was used to create the constructed cold cybertronians and later used in an attempt to kill them regardless of where they were located in the universe. There's a link on a quantum level (quantum is basically code for scifi magic anyway in fiction these days).

Anyway Ironhide lost 4 million years because he suffered an injury. he was still alive but for whatever reason his brain wasn't transmitting data back to Vector Sigma. It's kind of interesting, really. The constant livestream of data means old Vecty is the supreme repository for living knowledge. He has a constant census flow on what is going on with the children of Cybertron. And if you can access him and know what you are doing you can theoretically bring anyone back to life. Alpha Trion being one of those with the apparent knowhow. I suppose technically you could also duplicate them, too. Not really sure how that works.

Basically this means Starscream could indeed be haunted by the ghost of Bumblebee if Bumblebee's spark data is somehow manifesting without a body. Or could be other shenanigans going on there. Who knows in IDW.
>>
>>87336968
Yeah, magic and the supernatural has always existed in the series since the G1 cartoon, with magical robot ghosts and the Matrix being this ill described.. thing that vanquishes evil. The Marvel comic went crazier with the idea by making Unicron a dark god and creating Primus as the god and creator of all Transformers.

Sparks didn't exist until Beast Machines though, and wasn't until much later that they were retconned into always being a thing throughout the TF multiverse.

They seem to be wanting to tone the mystical part of the franchise down a bit in fiction lately though, since they ended the concept of multiversal singularities (probably since nobody agreed on who should be part of the Thirteen and people were probably sick of writing around Unicron being truly unkillable due to being a multiversal constant).

I never understood why people were so quick to dismiss Bumblebee as nothing more than a hallucination when he knew words and background information about characters that Starscream doesn't even know personally. His hallucination would be limited to his own knowledge or gibberish but so far BB ghost has been incredibly lucid during their conversations and still retaining his personality and thoughts despite Screamer not knowing anything about the guy beyond their few encounters during S1 of exrid.

Be aware that if you are watching the trilogy for Starscream that what you get with Armada will not apply to him in the other two series due to to Japan not initially having them be direct sequels.

I'm not even sure if they can die when they're like him. Rather like Nova Prime. How many times did he die and wound up returning? Anyone think he finally died with the Dead Universe? Fuck, is the Dead Universe and D-Void even gone? I hope so, at least.

Feels like when you're at their level dying is just an inconvenience until destiny shits you out again. Like Alpha Trion losing his head, literally. Sure Red Alert did but was found rather quickly and put on life support. Alpha Trion was believed dead even by Optimus but somehow Infinitus knew better. Apparently Titans never truly die either. These guys just don't play by the normal rules.

I guess we'll find out more when we meet Onyx. Oh, and his Confederation. I wonder if he has any more Primes in league with him. Micronus, I suspect, isn't really dead. Hell, I have my doubts about Nexus. Infinitus and Sovereign appear to be the original Headmasters, the combiners of who could merge with beasts that Galvatron despised back in the day. However I would honestly not be surprised if they turned out to be more than that - the components of Nexus Prime. He was always made of tinier men, after all. Galvatron may have just thought he killed him, doesn't mean the parts didn't survive.
>>
>>87353658
The G1 episode was just brining cybertron to Earth to steal it's resources. He seemed to think they could do it better locally. The movie wanted to use human slave labor which was pretty far fetched. I mean even if humans could survive on Cybertron (they could in the G1 cartoon, at least) we're way too small scale to do much rebuilding and we're EXTREMELY high maintenance. They'd need to provide food and water.
>>
>>87353753
That last paragraph was just me thinking out loud, fwiw. The components of Nexus Prime did have names in the Aligned continuity, at least.
>>
>>87353805
Slavery is Magic!

Also there were a couple of things they forgot like Earth's gravity disruption. It's a Michael Bay sci-fi, the guy who did Armageddon that even Ben Affleck questioned the science.

If ignoring the science, Cybertron pretty much has lesser cybertronians due to the war, the loss of the AllSpark to generate stronger hatchlings was a factor and enslaving humans would be the next best thing to help rebuild it.
>>
>>87353983
>Slavery is Magic!
Better than Friendship, I suppose.

That probably just caused someone to bite a chunk out of their keyboard.

Oh, and apparently Cybertron survived that whole debacle. Who the heck knows how. My personal favorite was when they stopped the transfer halfway through. Good thing Sentinel was a genius who no doubt could correct for the stellar drift after it was shut down and his space bridge can probably molecularly seal the halves back together.

As for the Allspark I don't even think they remember why that was important anymore. They don't seen to need it for babies or energon, especially given Optimus can now use the Matrix that also has, or maybe absorbed, the energy giving properties of the Allspark.

Shit, if they had the Allspark in the first place why did they ever need to kerplode all those suns? And how do you keep using up all that stored energy. Either their transfer process was horrifically inefficient or the administration by the original Primes certainly was.

But it's a Bay flick. You don't expect it to hold together - at all.
>>
>>87354133
Under my understanding of the Bayverse yes, I actually had understood some, the Allspark was the higher holy grail that could grant life and create cybertronians at will, and at a large radius, and also helps create energon to power up Cybertron and its people.

The Pyramid harvester was there to create a new all spark from a star.

The Matrix was the lesser grail, that can only recharge a Cybertronian, not Cybertron or the deceased of the years passed. Kinda like the difference between solar powered cube and an flash light battery. Lennox explained this straight up from the third movie, prior to Sentinel getting revived.
>>
>>87354296
It's not like the Allspark was ever destroyed. We knew that the Allspark cannot be destroyed, it can only be transformed. It even transformed itself into data stored in Ladiesman217's brain. Given he suddenly lost all of this it seems logical that his contact with the Matrix, and with the Primes who it turns out hadn't really died after all but merely ascended, transferred the information to the Matrix. Or didn't really have to because the artifacts are all connected via Primus.

Whatever the case it didn't just recharge Optimus but resurrected him.

Megatron kinda consumed the Allspark, the two shards were lost post second film and seeing as how Shia will never come back, they'd probably never expand on the cube's mystic nature. Still, the TF5 writers said they convinced Bay to tie up the macguffin continuity errors of TF1-TF3 and there were hints that the Seekers of ROTF would return.

So yeah, at this point it's all either loose canonity or reading the non-canon comics adaptation.

Megs got stabbed with it, then resurrected by a small bit tapped against his toe or whatever. Then later another fragment was used to wake up Jetfire. Then they sort of forget that the parts ever existed at all, which is precisely the problem with Bay's movies.
>>

It does though. Robot aliens going to earth to wage their war, some allying with humans, the others to enslave, and they transform into an assortment of vehicles.

Pretty sure Hasbro would try to sue for that latter half if someone did that

I mean yeah it didn't follow the G1 aesthetic but neither did the other spinoff generations to a degree.

I kind of hate how they're pushing designs that make the faces more human. I'm not even sure why they're doing it. Is it something to do with mocaping a human face? You can certainly get some expressions in faces that don't conform in detail to human ones, but it would make it simpler just to duplicate the actors expression.

At least BB retains his unique facial aesthetic. I didn't really like Drift and Crosshairs was actually offputting. At some point they look almost like human faces with the skin peeled off. Pretty garish.

Yet somehow Hound worked. I don't know why with that weird metal mountain man beard. Probably because he gave a surprisingly lovable performance. I kept thinking he was doomed in the final fight and was glad that he survived, albeit without everything in his arsenal tapped out.

I really don't like the Legends comics that come with Takara's toys. If you're going to give me waifu's at least make them more diverse? I play Cinderella girls for generic waifus. As for everything else it's really convoluted and not in a satisfying way.
Machinama's Combiner Wars just never happened. I'll just pretend it doesn't exist.
>fanbase
Genwunners and Twitter/Tumblrs MTMTE fanbase are so obnoxious and biased to the point of willful delusion. The latter aren't meant to be a generalization but specifically the part of it that hate everything/refuse to read anything that isn't by Roberts.

Okay, I never watched this movie but that smug response to Megs was awesome.
Bay Prime is honestly really great.

That's actually a nifty idea, anon. I hadn't considered that maybe they've been adapting their robot modes to conform to humanity, but given Optimus had been pushing that Earth is their new home it makes sense.

Reminds me when /toy/ would get in a huge pissy fit if you mention anything MTMTE related . They had a massive collective aneurysm when Minimus mini fig was revealed.
>>

The 13 aren't all that well defined in every setting. Maybe it would help giving people a list of names and basic traits for them?

I mean if I had to just jump in there and pick one, probably Solus Prime because who doesn't want to hang out with the creative talent in any pantheon? She could make you just about anything. Invite her to your house and she can trick out all your stuff.

Of course you can't romance her and she's doomed to die. Hm. This is sounding suspiciously like one of those /tg/ pick your friends threads.

I think that AoE, being a soft reboot, was trying out new things to appeal.

For example, people wanted them to be less monstrous so they gave them human faces and less kibble, which then was received less favorably.

So now in TF5 they're going back to the old, which didn't work out favorably with HotRod's concept art.
>>
>>87363296
Okay so imagine /toy/'s fury and disgust only towards things like early IDW/ Windblade/ exrid/ anything within the comics that aren't MTMTE.- that would be the behavior of the latter I mentioned. Mind you, I don't think they're the majority because there are still places like here and tfw2005 that have mixed opinions and preferences but man oh man the hivemind is powerful on Twitter and Tumblr.

Think of them like greek/roman gods. (I've been playing a lot of Skyrim)

Prima - The leader of the Thirteen, a warrior of light who wielded the Star Saber.
Vector Prime - The master of time and space, which he could manipulate through his Blades of Time.
Alpha Trion - Holder of the Quill, which he uses to record the past, present, and future of Cybertron in the Covenant of Primus in his role as recordskeeper of the Primes.
Solus Prime - The master artificer and creator of many of the Primes' weapons through use of her incredible Forge. She was the first female Cybertronian.
Micronus Prime - The conscience of the Thirteen, and the first Mini-Con, able to link up with and enhance the power of his siblings through the use of his Chimera Stone.
Alchemist Prime - Student of the elemental structure of the natural world, aided in this by his Lenses, which allowed him to see further and deeper than anyone, in both material and spiritual senses. Co-founder of Cybertronian civilization with Alpha Trion.
Nexus Prime - The first and greatest combiner, granted the ability to divide himself into separate forms by his Enigma of Combination. Unpredictable, fascinated by change, and a lighthearted prankster
>>
>>87363393
Onyx Prime - The first beast-form Cybertronian, a primitive and spiritual being able to view other times, places, souls, and even the afterlife through his three-faced Triptych Mask.
Amalgamous Prime - The joker of the Thirteen and the first Shifter, unpredictable and easygoing. He was first Cybertronian with the ability of transformation, granted him by his Transformation cog, which became the basis for the cogs in all subsequent Transformer life.
Quintus Prime - A daydreamer and perfectionist whose drive to express his ideas led him to become a scientist. His artifact was the Emberstone, which gave him the ability to create life; the Quintessons were among his creations.
Liege Maximo - The manipulator. Though his artifact was notionally the toxin-loaded Liegian Darts, his real skill was his ability to talk others into his way of thinking—a black art that ultimately caused the downfall of the Thirteen.
Megatronus - The warrior of darkness, Prima's opposite number, whose role as the necessary counterbalance set him apart from his fellow Primes. His artifact was the Requiem Blaster, created for him by Solus; this act began a doomed romance between the two that led to his turning on his brothers and becoming known as The Fallen.
Optimus Prime - The mediator of the Primes, who united the Thirteen by being the first among them to raise an arm in greeting. He would subsequently be reincarnated as Orion Pax.

Maybe because I've seen enough of this fandom over the decades to find it absolutely ridiculous to allow one side of the cesspool to motivate an itching anger when it has always been a repetitive pattern for every incarnation of a series. Things are more enjoyable when you ignore them.

They're pretty much the average general when the show's up.

But when they go through 9 days without anything new to discuss, they go back to shipping, character slutting and sometimes arguing that straight shipping should never exist with their aliens.

They're currently relegated to /trash/ till something new happens, as per agreement with th emods.

That's actually tragic.
>But when they go through 9 days without anything new to discuss, they go back to shipping, character slutting and sometimes arguing that straight shipping should never exist with their aliens.
You would think the exact same thing would happen on our generals but it somehow doesn't. Especially the slutting, how the hell have we avoided the slutting?
>>
>>87364841
/tfg/ was daily back then.

We had what was called Tarnslutting.
>>
>>87364888
It's starting to be daily again though now that Revolution and it's tie-ins force the IDW fans to make threads. Naturally, most if not all of them are fans of Transformers as well so it's been more frequent as of late.

Tarnslutting though. Wow. Shame he's dead.

Transformers look inherently pretty inhuman, and even if put them in slutty clothing it looks more funny than sexy. Also, TF is over 30 years old with dozens of iterations within the franchise, whereas your average cartoon/comic just has itself to discuss and speculate.

That's true. I don't. But I'm simply relaying the facts of how a general corrupts the longer it stands without a reason, or a purpose.

/tfg/ was once one of the regular generals of /co/, but unlike /mlpg/, /frz/, /hsg/, the general was kept low key, almost never mentioned in threads where /co/ discusses how toxic the other generals are mostly because no one makes TF threads outside of /tfg/. The corruption however, still festered .

Pic related was /frz/ in a nutshell.
