>What is Revolution?
Remember when you were a kid and you'd put all your toys together, making Snake Eyes and Flint ride on Optimus Prime while you pretended that your M.A.S.K. Thunderhawk could turn into something that wasn't a car with its doors open? It's basically that.

>What is being storytimed?
Two issues this week - Action Man: Revolution and Transformers: Revolution.

At least in this story, I like what Ryall is doing with them in ROM and I am sure he never intended for dogs to know.

True, although it does take a lot of liberties too like the moment that Wraith touched Marissa it should have been the end for her since they always try to infect humans when attacking them even if they end up killing them.

Of course I do get why that was overlooked, it would have been a bad ending for this type of story.

That said I'm going to miss TC's writing.

>>
>>87244493
>Thundercracker had its arm torn out, but he has both of them on the last panel
Yeah I noticed that too. I wonder if it that was all on Griffith or if Barber just let it slide because it's impossible for TC to have picked up that arm back up again and attached it- there's not arm to pick up!

>>
>>87244908
Most of the time they touch them after revealing themselves is too sting them tho, only time I can think where it's not the case is when one of them grabs Rom's partner to threaten to shoot her but she was already infected at that point.
>>
I know we're all hyped for Skywarp with the Joes, but what if the solution won't be as clear cut?

I'm saying he will join them possessing Blitzwing's body who'll heavily object against everything. His suffering won't end.

>>
>>87247119
Who can say after this latest revelation that he's not a writer after all but just a Seeker. Seeking...who knows what. Targets for elimination, he said, but we'll have to see.

Of course he's still technically down an arm despite that last panel and humanity will hate him on sight and now is not a good time to go lone wolf when so many people are hunting aliens and have the technology to seriously fuck them up.
>>
>>87242828
>Marissa instead of Susan
I am guessing from that and what comes later he wasn't thinking about his story and was preocuppied about getting to the white house and to Marissa too much to even be concentrating on his story.

Otherwise that slip has other implications.
>>
>>87247662
He said he wanted to go on a roadtrip and a variant cover of Optimus Prime #2 shows him in Egypt so he probably just goes and does that.
>>
>>87243099
So Helix is basically a video game character spawning from Rise of Cobra?
>>
>>87247737
Basically.
>>
>>87247666
His script already stated that Josh Boyfriend is "as handsome as a F-16 fighter jet"... but that might also be his only reference for what constitutes "handsome".
>>
So TC is taking a break/walkabout to get over his writers block? I hope he continues in the future.
>>
>>87247778
That explains it. Her skillset seems a bit extreme, even for the Joes. Fortunately she doesn't play out that way in the comics and she's cute as feck which makes it easier to forgive her.

If Skywarp really is joining the team, which Joe will he be bros with?
>>
>>87249101
I don't think they quite know what to do with Earth, honestly, which I think is why they've been running around like Alpha Trion's body with his head cut off. Marissa has the show, then Spike has it for, what, a handful of issues before the EDC is apparently scraped (some people talk about it being disbanded while the Direwraiths are still using its agents; though it's possible and probable that the timeline isn't quite concurrent prior to the Revolution issues). Now the Joes, who themselves were earlier disbanded in disgrace, are running the show.

It's been a mess, but at least it's mostly easy to work it out in-universe. Humanity struggling with multiple alien invasions as well as its own villains, some not yet openly declared. The President, meanwhile, seems to be centered on the idea of the US still trying to maintain business as usual but also having control over a global threat response agency fighting aliens using alien tech. It's impressive how much cooperation they're getting. We certainly wouldn't see China and the US engaging in joint operations in the real world but now the Joes can just call up a Chinese laser satellite strike. Why not.
>>
>>87250630
I have a hard time seeing Skywarp joining the Joes. He's only interested in a fix for his condition which means he needs (presumably) Blackrock. The humans could convince him they can help him, I suppose, and maybe they can, but what is his incentive? Also GI Joe having an alien buddy who can teleport them into and out of danger sounds too powerful.
>>
>>87250720
There are a million teams that have teleporters without being too powerful.

And his incentive is probably that he has literally nowhere else to go. Optimus, Soundwave, Starscream, Thundercracker... they'd either tell him to fuck off or toss him in a cell with the rest of Galvatron's forces.
>>
>>87250720
A plot point in IDW GI Joe was Cobra and the Joes trying to master teleportation tech so it's nothing new

Also who is to say the Joes will be able to help him right away, they don't have top scientists and Cybertronian tech is beyond any humans capabilities, they can just make shitty versions of it (like the zombie seekers).

Pretty sure he's going to be with them for awhile until he's fully recovered, at that point he'll find out that his Decepticon team is disbanded and has no aim, goal or purpose anymore and by that time he would have formed relationships with some of the Joes so he could even realistically consider staying.

Besides the Joes is the only team that is going to allow him to kill non-Cybertronian enemies, Optimus would be "Don't kill the humans" and he can go back to Cybertron I guess but Starscream would probably not want him there and give him shit.

He'll be all alone and besides if TC and Megatron can change where they were heading, heck even Starscream (although in his case it's less sincere and more a bid for power and to feed his own ego) so can Skywarp.
>>
I haven't caught up yet with all the comics but what IS Skywarp's current problem? He's an immaterial ghost from what I gathered, but how did that happen? Teleport gone wrong?
>>
>>87251487
Arcee stabbed him and I think Ore-14 messed him up further.
>>
>>87248060
She lacks characterization and personality and her beating Snake Eyes (who is also borderline out there) just really puts her out in the perfect Mary Sue category and a step above Windblade and Drift.

Honestly she needs to be humanized a little more or at least have her interact and not be a machine.

Hot damn.
That reminds me, I saw someone actually complain about Guidos artstyle the other day. According to said poster, all the characters drawn by him were hot and that's a problem despite the varation in facial structure, bodies, optics, etc. The irony of it all is they found Milne to be the best TF aristist within this same discussion.

Do any of you share this dislike for Guido's overly handsome bots?
>>
>>87250888
Which teams? You mean like the X-Men using Pixie or Nightcrawler? To be fair their teleportation was useful but when you have Rightclops on your team and the worlds most powerful psychics they aren't even the big guns. A giant robot alien war machine AND he can teleport makes him their big guy (for anyone) and a cheap means of transport.

You can at least get some mileage out of this given Skywarp is still apparently intangible and given his attitude won't be super helpful and probably would just shrug if he teleported, say, Cover Girl half into a wall. Which would still be a more dignified death than what she got in Rise of Cobra.

I don't even think they would have to. Blitzwing remembers Scarlett's cruelty towards him along with Mayhem. He has no problem killing humans and would probably do the job willingly so as long as Destro feeds him good energon.

She sounded like a Mary Sue when I looked her up in the Joepedia http://gijoe.wikia.com/wiki/Agent_Helix_(IDW)

Honestly I'd never encountered her before so I wasn't even sure which Hasbro line she was even from, assuming she wasn't some random new creation. Master of every form of martial art (or fairly well up there) and able to learn any fighting style just on seeing it and also her preternatural problem solving and Total Battlefield Awareness? She's like a combination of Taskmaster and the Clerics from Equilibrium. That puts her at Chernobyl danger levels of Sueness.

But they haven't made her too super awesome in IDW, so I'm not going to complain about her yet.

Nik Roche and John Barber made an outline of the story but was later applied to MTMTE. Basically Octane Spotlight would of taken the premise of Fulcrum from the 1st Scavenger arc. I imagine Skywarp would probably keep his Decepticon symbol because he's still a Decepticon through and through. He was one of the cons who genuinely cared about the cause or at least the brotherhood that came with being a Decepticon.
That and Skywarp Joe would have to be made eventually if they gave him the Joe badge.

Thundercracker went from being a sideline wacky supporting character to a wartime combatant and Marissa had to admit that she actually cared about the idiot.

I would read an ongoing just about Marissa and Thundercracker having adventures. Maybe throw in Cosmos as a wet blanket C-3PO dragged along for the ride to go with Doc's R2-D2.

Barber is really funny when he wants to be.
He needs to cut loose more often, I feel he avoids humor because the cast of exrid is full of serious people but that alone calls for even more wit.
Of course I don't want it to be too full of wit, otherwise, it would just be like MTMTE and while that's not bad I would rather the two remain different in tone.

A group of people did that at some point and it caused drama in the special snowflake side of the fanbase- which is pretty much all of the MTMTE fandom on Twitter. Mind you I don't say TF in general because the only things these people read and praise are MTMTE and the aligned continuity.

>the crowned jewel of Hasbro
Why do they keep saying this?
>>
>>87282070
No idea since it cant stay relevant without one of the other franchises keeping it on life support.
>>
>>87266451
>Basically Octane Spotlight would of taken the premise of Fulcrum from the 1st Scavenger arc.

That's could be a good place for the character. Sadly he has been stuck in the most boring of the Transformers comic, being a one joke character.
>>
>>87282070
The Jewel exists to draw interest, but is not the structure of the crown and is irrelevant to the quality of its crown-ness.
>>
>>87281435
They should do a TF anthology comic and showcase the new Cybertronians there or just do minis about them.
>>
>>87281648
Well I guess we're 95% sure it's him.
>>
>>87282125
This.
It had to go full blown sci-fi because it's previous formula just wasn't interesting.
>>
>>87282070
It's only Sitterson that does, let him believe it.

Also the jewel is not the most important thing about the crown.
>>
>>87282293
Is that how they actually described it because that sounds pretty accurate. Though most people seem to still be drawn in by TF as opposed to Joes.
>>
>>87282070
It's going to be the most "worldly" of the titles?
Like, I guess Transformers are going to be "cosmic"-themed, GI Joe are going to be "international"-themed, Micronauts are in another dimension, and then Revolutionaries and Rom are off doing their own thing?
>>
>>87282392
Well it was interesting under Hama but that formula has been done with and people afterwards just copied Hama and did a poorer job at it.

Sci-fi has always been part of GI Joe but it was never the main thing, in the comics at least because the cartoon was full of sci-fi plus mysticism and other stuff and Sitterson is just bringing it back.

That said GI Joe can be interesting, look at GI Joe Renegades
https://youtu.be/CMnmYWeyzRY

It tried something new and it worked (no matter how much some fans bitched about it) a group of Joes discover what Cobra really is and then get framed amd become fugitives. The show alsonturned Cobra into a corporate terrorist group disguised as a benevolent organization that was viewed favorably by the public.

Also if Metal Gear can make sci-fi military stories appealing then so can GI Joe, there just needs to be a good writer and someone that cares for the characters and I hope Sitterson can pull it off.
>>
>>87282676
But they are still fleshbags. Why read about those?
>>
>>87282676
There's so many ways they could make Joe interesting. Renegades was a great "GI Joe as A-Team". The new comic seems to be going for "GI Joe as Avengers". I'd love to see someone try a Metal Gear or Overwatch take on them, too.

But, no, the fanbase only wants Hama-lite hard military fiction.
>>
>>87282808
They're like the Geewunners they should just get on with it or GTFO, besides the still have Hama's comic so they can latch on that and let the franchise move on to other things.
>>
>>87282719
This.
>>
>>87282719
>>87282860

>>
>>87282961
Well you have two other titles to enjoy and the ocassional mini.

I mean I didn't like RiD for awhile and liked MTMTE better but towards the end it was the opposite for me, ExRiD became more interesting and Roberts was just wasting time and fucked up the DJD.
>>
>>87283013
I was thinking how unbearable and bland the pairing would be if you put two snowflake characters together.

Snake Eyes is close to dangerous Mary Sue levels or special character that gets special treatment except that writers let the Snakes be vulnerable from time to time and he has been shown to get his ass kicked (and Hama killed himbon his run).

Helix has the whole mysterious past and worst she is good at everything and the character is aware at this. She can beat Snake Eyes who is suppose to be one of the top fighters and she hangs out with him a lot and they are suppose to be really tight except we never see why.
>>
>>87283268
And then what happens? Helix becomes demanding Snake Eyes gives her baby while punching him in the face and Snake Eyes cannot do anything but endure it since he cannot tell her he has ED?
>>
>>87282435
I hope Micronauts spend more time in the Microverse than on Earth, I really don't care about them being tiny in big world, I like Microverse better.

Rom is most likely going to be partially on Earth and on space.

Joes will probably just get teleported around the globe by Skywarp or yeah be around here and there, so yeah wordly and probably find some strange subterranean underground city ruled by Lizard people and cursed ancient Nordic tombs, then the ocassional dealing with Cobra because Sitterson more than hinted a Cobra comeback (Destro in particular).

Transformers will be Cosmic and Optimus defending Earth from Cosmic and Cybertronian threats plus the ocassional cosmic dealings and TC shenanigans.

Revolutionaries will be crossover stuff with the aborted Action Man storyline, also the ocassional pun joke. So I guess pure sci-fi action and Michael bay explosions or whatever they are dealing with.

I dunno WTF MASK will be about, so unfamiliar with that franchise.

But then he stops to think about how he's now hiding inside the universe that's also inside himself, and with a look of horror realizes that he's just created a perfect Captain Kirk style robot killing bit of illogic that fries his own brain.

And the caption flat out tells you that it's in Microspace. Along with the entire sub-plot in Revolution #3 about the Autobots trying to stop Rom from sending Ore-13 into Metrotitan's space bridge to Microspace. And where in Microspace did that space bridge specifically lead to? Micronus

You're taking Karza way too literally in that panel. When we're talking about universes, the spot that the big bang originated from could very easily be called the "birthplace."
>>
>>87287852
Because they flew into the entropy storm which is still technically apart of Microspace and behold, the corpse of Micronus was there.
>>
>>87287933
Maybe the editors flubbed it. Hell, we've had people bitching in this thread about how dogs can sense Direwraiths that are otherwise undetectable even to Rom. If only Rom had met Buster his own comic would have been completed in victory by now. An earlier caption just mentioned the ship and inside the entropy cloud. They don't know what the cloud is or where they even are. They entered it and fried most of their systems and are now within a place where they find things they thought were destroyed.

And now they are outside of Micronus but somehow powering up Micronus will also power their own universe. Does this really suggest it is the same place to you? Or that they are outside of it? Micronus creates a microverse around himself? Or is it within him?
>>
>>87287965
But is it? They don't understand what it even is. They only recently found out that it wasn't actually destroying what it consumed. All they know is that it is apparently functionally separate from Microspace. What goes in doesn't come back out. Hell, time functions completely differently in there, too.
>>
>>87288082

>And now they are outside of Micronus but somehow powering up Micronus will also power their own universe.
Okay, I see the problem. Anon, it has never been stated that they're using the Ore-13 to power up Micronus. All Karza's using Micronus for is the space bridge. He's said that Ore-13 just slows the entropy cloud's progress and destroys it. Nothing about using it on Micronus.

And yes, I do believe that inside of the entropy cloud is still inside the Microverse. Because the comic has literally said that a million times and given us no reason to think otherwise.

Oh, and here's Karza calling the area around Micronus his universe. Case closed. Although I fully expect you to now go "well, he doesn't know for sure what the cloud is or where they even are!" even though you were just arguing that he does.
>>
>>87288305
He flipping just said on the page that Ore 13 was his salvation. How do you not get that Ore 13 is supposed to save Microspace?
>>
>>87288305
Actually flowing into his universe says nothing about which universe he is currently in. If he were outside of Microspace and Ore-13 was flowing into it he would still say it was flowing into his universe. So case kind of unclosed. Maybe when they get to calling in that one million and one times.

Maybe recognized all the times they talked about Micronus creating Microspace, calling him the live giver, that the "sleeping giant awakens." Talking about Ore-13 as their food. Somehow all of this doesn't even give you a sense that restoring Micronus is the means to restore Microspace?

That's okay. You probably didn't notice when you were busying counting out each of those million times they said Micronus is in Microspace.

Are you really going to reach this fucking far when the captions (that excuse of yours about editors not noticing was fucking bullshit when Bunn himself is co-writing this fyi), the character, literally EVERYTHING in these comics are saying Micronus is in Microspace?

I mean who says, "The giant is awakening" and then just means it's this tiny disk separating from him? Since you've got something about how people would definitely say or not say things stuck up your butt.

And who said Microspace called it food. That was what Opitmus said as they are talking about Micronus and Ore-13. It's in that part of the comic, or are you refusing to read that part of the comic?
>>
>>87288827
>>87288874
Micronus created Microspace. You don't think if they could find a way to power him back up he might not be able to fix it? The Thirteen Primes are something beyond normal Cybertronians even in IDW. And those who serve Primes, like the Titan Masters, apparently follow their own rules as well. Ore-13 is not your typical energon.

There's some mystical shit going down here. Call it destiny or the will of some greater being whether robot god or who knows what else. This is Transformers (among other things). Expect more than meets the eye.

>And who said Microspace called it food. That was what Opitmus said as they are talking about Micronus and Ore-13. It's in that part of the comic, or are you refusing to read that part of the comic?
Nah, unlike you, I don't ignore things that don't contribute to my narrative and then bitch when others bring them up.

Ore-13 has always been food to Cybertronians, yes. Dire Wraiths and a lot of other shit can also use it. It still has not been said anywhere that Karza is using it on Micronus. If anything, its effect on Microspace is just showing that it really did spawn from Micronus. Not that it's inside of him. Actually, given that you were just were saying that "the birthplace isn't the same as the thing it is giving birth to," why are you now saying that Microspace is inside of Micronus? Does that not go against your literally treating its creation like a birth? Do you even know for sure what your argument is?

I think the only one who's genuinely going to be mystical is Onyx. He's usually the Prime of the spirit but knowing how IDW avoids any sort of mysticism coming off as true in TF, they'll probably change that.

Basically no fun allowed.

>>87289144
I don't know. The Matrix as always is otherwordly and mystical, even if the characters (especially Brainstorm) tries to parse it in technobabble. We've had gods, other universe sort-of-devils, the magic of Optimus Prime (apparently manifesting The Touch through his suddenly flaming chest in the presence of the Mistress of Flame). There's been the stuff of legends and myths come true. Ironhide back from the dead (minus everything after he had a head wound millions of years ago). Titans back from the dead. Apparently the Titan who declared Starscream the chosen one who exploded at least a few times is now chilling on Earth, again somehow.

There's more than enough weird shit to go around in IDW.
>>
>>87289185
I don't know if it's fun, but it is definitely pointless. If this argument is stupid enough people might remember it a few threads from now, but more than likely nobody will remember it by tomorrow. Especially if we're arguing about something else entirely.
>>

Don't forget when Kup got abducted by giant zombie from another dimension.
>>
>>87289242
That's actually all very true. Although Ironhides miraculous recovery got an explanation.
Now I'm really hoping Onyx knows magic, if the Dire Wraiths can know it so can the Prime of the spirit. That and it would be cool to see what Cybertronian magic spells look like?
>>
>>87289292
I try to forget it but to no avail. Kup stolen for years by a vampire zombie robot named after Britney Spears. Sweet Primus, have mercy on us. At least we found Kup, somehow devoid...shit, didn't mean that as any kind of joke, anyway d-void-FUCK, otherwise not a zombie. But also undead because that's how the Dead Universe rolls? But he's not undead now?

Man, I just roll with it these days. Usually with my eyes.
>>
>>87289313
As I understood it Ironhide's recovery was because Alpha Trion yanked his soul out of the core but he was missing relevant data after he took a bullet from Prime millions of years ago that destroyed his wifi link to god and thus kept him from being adequately backed up. So Alpha Trion just restored his files to the earliest copy he could find.

>>
>>87293542
Yeah, just wanted to point out why the term still applies. I don't mind OP characters in itself, the crux is just that they get boring real fast if they're adored by everyone and can overcome every obstacle. Don't know if Thunderclash in MTMTE is meant to parody that, since he's virtually adored by everyone but is rarely an active force in the narrative. Only applied in small doses, so to speak. (I'm not a Joe reader and only making my way through the Transformers, so apologies if I'm missing something)

>>87293637
Probably some time without responsibilities and not having to worry about people and the state of things. Maybe basketball with Soundwave.
>>
>>87293655
>the crux is just that they get boring real fast if they're adored by everyone and can overcome every obstacle.
Thing about Helix is that she's not even adored by the rest of the cast but his isn't seen as a flaw. Helix is pretty much Arcee only she doesn't struggle to make friends and gain company because she's a lone wolf through and through, she's the best fighter in the Joe's thanks to her built-in Sharingan, and she's incredibly intelligent to the point where she's a walking encyclopedia.
There's nothing to her beyond her strength and brilliance. I'M sure she probably has some sad past but hat only adds depth not development after ,again, 200 issues.
And I'm not even the anon who constantly drags this poor girl.
>>
>>87293655
>Probably some time without responsibilities and not having to worry about people and the state of things. Maybe basketball with Soundwave.
I swear when these series are finally over Optimus needs to just go back to being Orion Pax, leave to explore the galaxy, and bring Soundwave with him so that he doesn't get lonely.
>>
>>87293703
Soundwave deserves better.
>>
>>87293695
Yeah that sounds pretty bad and boring, and not having anyone say something about her lack of social skills/integration in the kind of special ops military setting of the Joes is a big oversight. I can understand why they'd be interested in her as an asset, but I'd assume she'd be psychotherapied into boredom to get her to care for the team.
And a sad past may inform why she's like this or why she might one day do something unexpected, but it's not enough to keep her interesting in the long run. Even some "quirky" coping mechanism could help.

Name one (1) effective female Decepticon that wasn't a turncoat who tried to go back to the other side again, jobber, or had some meme secondary mode that was not useful.

The funny thing is anon said "like a mary sue" because yes she can be like it and still not one, and it would even be just as bad. Which is the point. Very few people bother to say Canon Sue, and if you do you'll probably deal with the "bake to tropelund" people.

Shit, it's like you weren't hear for the reactions to Miko or Drift back in the day. Makes you seen very new.
>>
>>87301023
Most female Decepticons have been shit really, even Black Arachnia was better when she was a Predacon in Beast Wars even if she had her own agenda.

I think it has to do with the fact that no one cares to introduce new good ones or make the existing ones interesting, they always go for the classic characters or introduce new male ones.

Baroness is effective and isn't really much of a turncoat as much as she hates inefficiency and incompetence, she's loyal to Cobra and if she thinks their leader is good she will be OK with it, if she were to be a Decepticon she would be fine with Megatron as leader but not with someone like Starscream.
>>
>>87301663
Yes but would there be some kind of love triangle between her, Megs, and Destro? And would they all decide to party with each other?
>>
This makes me want to storytime some of IDW Joe.
I love Revolution so far but the Joe's aren't at their very best since they're all really pissed off (and for good reason). Then again, I should probably storytime Infiltration.

So far the most hilarious problem is that the EDC and China, among others, have been stocking up on anti-Transformer tech for years. Hell, before there WAS an EDC that bastard Spike used to pilot a crashsuit for Skywatch doing anti-cybertronian and joint Autobot ops. Now they have clone/zombie transformers on the White House lawn. Then the Joes get the keys to the kingdom from the president and Roadblock just runs around with regular old machine guns and is like, "Well fuck, this isn't working."

They're either horribly uninformed or most of them slept through briefings.
>>
>>87301864
>Then the Joes get the keys to the kingdom from the president and Roadblock just runs around with regular old machine guns and is like, "Well fuck, this isn't working."
That's what I was thinking? The Joe's should be so jacked up by now with all the twch between the EDC and their own developments, unless all the high tech was being kept in the Bikini Atoll facility and they lost access to it?
>>
>>87301789
She turns out to be Drifts long lost sister.
Skywarp was a red herring, there was already a Transformer amongst them ND it was Helix.
>>
>>87301625
The thing with Helix for me is that she's super bland. What do we know about her? She's perfect, she's better than a lot of the top tier human characters, Snake Eyes hangs around with her a lot, Scarlett is uncharacteristically jealous of her, she has a mysterious past (even Snake Eyes has a past despite the fact that his real name is classified), when she makes a decision it's shown to be the most logical or obvious one and everyone is impressed with her.

Her Joepedia doesn't even help

>Agent Helix is a covert operations officer for the G.I. Joe team. She is an expert marksman and skilled with advance martial arts training. She uses duel 10mm Autopistols as her preferred weapon. She's an Olympic-classed gymnast and uses her distinctive "Whirlwind attack" to deliver overpowering combinations of kicks and firepower to Cobra agents. Has the ability to identify and solve complex physical calculations at a rate that some consider extremely spooky. To her, everything has a data set, like miles left before a car will run out of gas or ammo count in the bad guys' guns, etc. To Duke and Hawk, this ability is called "Total Organic Battlefield Awareness."

>Prior to joining G.I. Joe, Helix was a near master level practitioner of capoeira, muay thai, wing chun, shuai jiao, kendo and even fencing. Helix competed in both official and underground tournaments. Some of those tournaments were to the death. She would walk in the tournaments knowing nothing, engage in combat with lifetime practitioners of the art... and walk out without a scratch. Not only was she a good fighter, rumor had it that she could master a fighting style after encountering it once.

I hope Sitterson really develops her, have Skywarp find her creepy have Helix develop an unusual sense of humor or be plain weird about things, just give her a personality, make her interesting.

>>87301789
That be overkill but it would also explain a lot of the hack shit that she can do.
>>
>>
>>87301864
Blame it on the Dire Wraiths, they probably took all the anti-Cybertronian tech.

She's a sleeper agent who turns out to be Drift's sister and his Headmaster.

She also finds her way to the Lost Light somehow and becomes their new leader, with her help they find the Knighs of Cybertron, they all go back to Cybertron and take down Starscream and Helix raises like 3 legendary Titans in different worlds somehow and becomes Cybertron's new leader.

Yeah the artist for the Legends comics sexualize them a lot. But more so they help steam line Japanese G1 continuity mostly. One example, having Ultra Magnus revived after Headmasters into the new CW body.
>>
>>87301965
I could salute that easily. Cut it, print.

I'm the anon who pissed off that guy for mentioning "mary sue" but I was just going on her joepedia description. GI Joe is the best of the best of the best of the best, so it's not like any of them are slouches, but she did seem a bit extreme even for them. But I don't know if that's what she is like in IDW. I've only seen her in the recent stuff and she's been fine. Considering she's only existed since a video game tie-in circa 2009 I'm surprised she has "over 200 issues to be developed" but okay.

As opposed to outright putting a human companion in any of the comics (at least ex-rid is getting closer to that) a Sari style humanformer, human but not really and giving a human perspective while trying to come to terms with a cybertronian heritage would be interesting.

On that note I wonder what happened to Blackrock. Prowl says he sent him back to Earth...but this is Prowl we're talking about. Would he let a Cybertronian sleeper agent for Onyx Prime who was doing work with the humans and advancing their tech, including anti-transformer tech, but now also can link to and control titans...would he really let someone like that just go back to Earth?
>>
>>87302004
I've never read any of the Joe comics, just the Transformers tie-ins, so from my perspective she's been fine because she largely hasn't done anything. Most of the Joes haven't. I did get a kick out of Wild Bill showing up a few issues back.

Her Joepedia really sounds like someone designed straight up for a fighting game to explain why she's super awesome without the need for development. Especially not even the main cast but a secret unlockable for a character you'd never heard of so presumably they needed her awesome enough for people to try to unlock her? I'm REALLY guessing because I never played the game.
>>
>>87302115
Also she isn't mislead once and not a single squad mate dies under he care. Rodimus praises her and Megatron claims that if Helix had been by his side, certainly the Decepticons could Ave conquered the galaxy and brought that empire into being.
>>
>>87302210
At most she talks about hurting the Cybertronians when we'd largely seen that nothing the Joes had bothered the Autobots...except poor Jazz. Poor, poor Jazz just cannot catch a break these days. at least he managed to survive wounds that might have otherwise proven fatal when captured by the EDC and wired into Blackrock's computer network.

It sounds like because there wasn't much to her to begin with people don't know what to do with her. Most of the Joes and Cobra have tons of background stretching over decades.

Oh hell, that's exactly what it's like. Like Windblade or Victorion's components. They exist, they're very official, but that's about all there is to them so they're a huge unknown quantity that people don't seem to know what to do with them. Windblade especially is meandering a bit.

There was a story that focused on her but in terms of personality and character motivations it did nothing for her

http://comicvine.gamespot.com/agent-helix/4005-70810/

This is the most that has been done with her.
>>
>>87302385
Thing is that with over 200 issues you can easily give her something. I had suggested it before but they could take an Arcee route with her, maybe she's literally autistic? Maybe she doesn't actually like being a lone wolf but is so unaccustomed to dealing with people she's afraid of being anything else? Or better yet give her a weird hobby or something that reminds us she's human.
I'm upset that comicbook writers tend to neglect the little things like a characters hobbies or what they do in their downtime; it really adds so much to how believable they are. I think that's probably one of MTMTE's charm points, all the characters have hobbies and actually have a life and mind outside of the action and adventure.
>>
>>87302372
Yeah, like what was stated before. The Legends line pack-in comics are more for continuity/lore than anything else.
That Megatron strip references 6 other prior works from Japanese G1 to align with the new CW body.

Yep, it's ridiculous.

Scarlett even indirectly confronts her about it and Helix tells her they don't have anything going on because Helix doesn't want relationships because they are pointless and a waste of time.
>>
>>87302435
We knew that.
It's in autocracy, the Ironhide flashbacks in AHM, Soundwave was really unlucky in that he was always the one out of the Megatrons decepticon trio to get chased or attacked by Optimus.

It would be a very bland couple and Sitterson at least in one of his interviews said that both Helix and Snakes would be hanging out a lot.

But hey if they leave Scarlett out of it I am more than OK, as much as I like Snakes and Scarlett when people other than Hama handle it they always have her crying/worrying/thinking about him, it's basically pic fucking related.

The WWII Transformers GI Joe crossover was good but it had a sappy sub plot about Snake Eyes being tortured because his face was fucked up and Scarlett angstying because Snake Eyes wasn't paying attention to her (she even ignored Bumblebee liking her) then in Transformers vs GI Joe it was the same shit except they toned down the Scarlett angstying.

I liked how Hama wrote them and how their relationship was written in GI Joe Renegades, it was subtle and they both worried about each other and left the angstying only when the other was really hurt but stepped off when the other had to deal with personal shit.

>>87302656
Duke had a thing with Scarlett prior to this but it didn't work out because she liked Snake Eyes, then Mainframe liked Scarlett and Duke noticed and told him not to bother if he wasn't a Ninja.

And going from Revolution #1 Mainframe and Scarlett did have a thing going on but he mentions she dumped him.

Like fuck leave Scarlett out of this love triangle BS.
>>
>>87302442
>>87302719
Victorion is very new and so far she's only been fighting so her lack of development is understanding. Windblade is taking awhile but at least she's learned that there's no staying squeaky clean on Cybertron so if she has to fight dirty as Starscream, so be it.
>>
>>87302762
It's not helped that they are an entirely new team, each lacking individual focus, and mostly spending their time joined as an entirely different dude made up from their personalities and bodies. Cuts down on the panel time considerably.
>>
>>87302724
So what can we learn from this?
Unless your Hama, don't throw Scarlett into a relationship or have them brood about one. It comes off as annoying and also really unprofessional? Again, the time she confronted Helix about it was ridiculously out of character I was shocked and not in a good way.
>>
>>87302790
Exactly. Pyra Magna is finally out of Victorion in TAAO so we'll have to wait and see how that turns out.
>>
>>87302762
I like Windblade and I don't really get the "underdeveloped" complaint. She's a naive idealist who's having to constantly compromise her morals to get ahead. It's good.
>>
>>87302877
Well the Renegades writers did a good job on it, mainly because their relationship was subtle and the only drama that happened was when Scarlett hugs Duke during an emotional moment and Snake Eyes catches them and drives away but it was a misunderstanding that gets cleared really fast.

Then there was Resolute, Warren Ellis said he didn't know WTF GI Joe was when they told him to write that and he had skimmed the GI Joe cartoon and some of the Hama comics before he wrote the script for Resolute (then he mentioned he didn't like it). In the first episodes he had Snake Eyes go after Storm Shadow, Duke tells him to go after Stormshadow but to be ready when Duke needs and then when he thought Snake Eyes was out of the room he forced Scarlett to choose between him and Snake Eyes and Scarlett chose Duke (and we then get Snake Eyes listening to them in the hallway and reacting to that).

But yeah at this point I am tired of the Snake Eyes/Scarlett drama, I like that pairing but a lot of writers don't know how to handle it and it always does more bad to Scarlett more than it does to Snake Eyes. I rather have Snake Eyes being boring with Helix and Scarlett free of that shit if it means avoiding that drama crap.
>>
>>87303034
It's probably that she's so nice in a world where we're used to all the characters being smug, sarcastic, or comedically serious. Cinnamonroll type characters usually aren't well liked in any franchise unless they have something to them? I'm not even sure what that something is but characters like Tailgate would be a good example of genuinely nice character being well loved.
