Refresh my memory a bit, it wasn't just any Selki that had to sing the song was it?
The journey Saoirse had meant that she effectively defeated the source of the emotion draining too

Little world building detail, the stones in the background of the fairies home are inscribed with a form of ancient Irish runes called Ogham. Don't know what they say (or if they actually do spell anything), but most examples found are of people's names.
