I'm liking a lot of Rebirth books for the solid, back to basics approach, and I'm still pulling a lot from them. Young Animal and Hanna Barbera are also really good reads. Also I can't wait for some upcoming releases like Kamandi and Captain Atom.

As a long time DC comics fan I'm dissapointed with most of their output, most if their exclusives and their reluctance to take risks. The only thing they need to be happy about(other than sales) is that Marvel is creatively bankrupt right now.

I think Skwad is a lot better than people think it is. Yeah its terribly edited, but everyone I know that saw it wasnt talking about Harley or Smith, they were actually talking about Boomer, Croc and Diablo as their favorite characters (even though they all hardly said anything).

not that anon, I think BvS was really well edited, the scenes have a really logical progression that isnt apparent at first. For example Batman's knightmare sequence, his worst fear of what Superman can become (judge, jury, and executioner), being followed by Superman seeing the photos of Batman's branded victims in jail being killed, his worst fear of what Batman can become (judge, jury, and executioner). Or how its book ended by two funerals, one trapping Batman into his crusade and the other liberating him from it.


That being said, Squad had some shitty editing in the beginning, but it found its footing as the movie progressed. There is a lot of cut content that I feel would have made the movie flow better (the extended version of BvS flowed much better too imo)

The movie was fucking boring. I saw it day 1 and with a packed theater, and despite being defended as "fun" the audience was largely dead silent with the exception of a few small chuckles here and there, most notably when Batman punched Harley.

The plot and climax was as generic as they could be, the action was shit, the dialogue was a joke, the actual jokes weren't funny, the editing was a cluster fuck, the TOP 100 POP FAVORITES crammed in everywhere was cringeworthy, Harley was awful (SHE'S SO CRAZY XD), Boomerang was awful (UNICORN PLUSH XD), Deadshot was just Will Smith, almost everyone else either had too little personality or too few lines, and it was the only movie in recent memory that legitimately had me bored and waiting for it to be over.

The only redeeming qualities about it were Diablo, Waller (until that last scene), swamp witch Enchantress, and Jared Leto's Joker wasn't all that bad, but the fact that it had a ton of shit and was STILL as boring as it was is it's biggest crime.

The movie was successful thanks to Facebook trotting hot topic casuals and that just seals the deal for me that the DCEU is doomed since WB execs will apply their lessons the same way that Mavel/Disney execs applied LE FUNNY QUIPS XD to their every film.

Thank God DC proper isn't as big on movie synergy as Marvel though.
