All of the recent SJW Marvel stuff has been pretty fucking bad (Ms. Marvel, Hellcat, Squirrel Girl, Silk, Soule She-Hulk, Howard the Duck, Spider-Woman, etc)

Main issue is the flat colours, oversimplified drawings and lazy, sloppy inkwork. But I guess Marvel's house-style is a Patriarchal norm or some shit.

Mike Baron's Detonator has to be close. He's an incredible writer, but he worked with an artist on that mini that drew like a 12 year old on deviantart.

U.S War Machine 2.0 and it's not even close

I'm not wild about American comics. I think too many artists cut corners, and too many readers cut them slack. I read something with a legendary reputation like Transmetropolitan, and it's got perspective mistakes out the wazoo.

But the worst has been Squirrel Girl. It has all the regular mistakes, and then some. It not only makes mistakes, but looks ugly. It substitutes proper backgrounds with flat colours. It's a zero effort comic, and the fact that it was praised for having a trans character without having a fucking trans character is laughable. As is the fact that the artist didn't simply roll with it and said "yeah, totally, we're all about representation".
