I'd rather not imagine the kind of trauma that induces a young child to literally assume the persona of a cat.

The implications that a) You want if not need a completely different identity and b) This cannot be a human identity are pretty worrying.

Extreme cases of neglect have occurred where a human child only received attention from the family dog and consequently concluded she'd live like a dog.
