This was never a debate. Hulk would beat that azz.

can hulk defeat he-man?

You know, I have the impression that Stan never paid much attention to the characters he "wrote"
>>
>>87176166
Well, I mean no shit. Who didn't know this already? A better question would have been thor vs. hulk, even though we already know hulk would win.
>>
>Marvel Studios character would defeat Fox character
Always the greedy Jew, Stan.
>>
>>87176422
In his dying breathes he'll still do his best to bury the competition.
>>
>>87176280
Hulk's not the strongest man in his universe, so no.

>>87176285
>dumb brute
Did you just read the headline or something? He said he can be put into a draw by being outsmarted, but on raw strength and stamina there's no way Thing could win. That's a valid statement. When you add in the years that hulk presents a lot of Banner's underlying humanity, there's no way Thing could win in any way without some sort of tech. Not even outsmarting Hulk would gain him a draw without a weapon.
>>
>>87176285
It's a matter of pure raw strength mainly, with the hulk being much larger in that respect.
>>
>>87176285
except even with all of Thing's smarts he would not win a fight with the Hulk. And it would be even harder for him now than in the early days.
>>
>>87176166
No shit? Ben isn't even a heavyweight. Spiderman could rek him for instance

Ben's personality and courage are 10/10 though. He needs to be in more books

That's true, but that just shows how badly Hulk is written, that nobody could beat him.

I know it would never happen, but I would LOVE to see someone close to Hulk's physical ability, say, Juggernaut, be TRAINED by Thing in fist fighting and wrestling specifically to take jade jaws on.

Ben Grimm might possibly be the best Marvel fighting instructor in the field of super strength hand-to-hand, at least this side of Asgard. I'd still like to see him be a boxing / wrestling trainer to bruiser super humans sometime.
>>
>>87176758
so silver surfer without the power cosmic is super-medium weight

not sure if thats impressive since it means he is strong even without his board, or lame since you would think that galactus would have granted him thor-strength as standard

or maybe galactus wanted him to be reliant on the power cosmic for whatever reason [/spoiler[

>>87176166
No shit, Hulk was always stronger. For the Thing it's even being in the fight in the first place. That he can go Toe-to-Toe with Hulk is impressive in itself.

Though my favorite Hulk/Thing 'fight' is after Johnny Storm died, and Hulk let a grieving Thing wail on him.
>>
>>87177234
Didnt he do the same thing with Spider-Man when he thought MJ died in a plane crash? Why is Hulk such a bro?

Well, the Hulk kicked a Tsunami, but the Thing lifted the whole lineup of the Boston Redsox...

What do you think?
>>
>>87177363
I think Stan comes to /co/ to feast off of powerlevel fight energy
>>
>>87176166

Well, duh.

The Thing has always been very strong but not quite up to the top-tier strongmen of the marvel universe, and in the case of a battle with the Hulk who effectively has no top-end strength level the odds are that any battle between the two that doesn't start with the Thing getting a near-instant KO is going to have the Hulk ramping up to levels the Thing has no hope of overcoming.

I like Ben, I love the character much more than I care for Bruce/Hulk. Doesn't change the fact that the typical comic portrayal of the Thing is going to get his ass handed to him by the typical comic portrayal of the Hulk

(I add that "typical" caveat for those of you who'll point to the Thing's short-lived strength increases, or the times when the Hulk was vastly depowered, cherrypicking those two scenarios to have them encounter each other. Fine, the "pointy" Thing smacks around Mr Fixit Hulk, can we move on to the portrayals that occurred the other 99% of their appearances now?)

Hulk is weak.
>>
>>87176285

There is only so much that Ben's non-animalistic intelligence is going to bring to a fistfight. I'll easily acknowledge that Ben's fighting ability is what would keep him in the game with a stronger Hulk for any time period, but it only prolongs the inevitable as the Hulk grows stronger and stronger, as blows that the Thing is able to deflect when the Hulk can bench, say, 100 tons become much harder to deflect when he can bench 150 tons. Eventually the strength difference becomes so overwhelming that no level of boxing skill is going to keep a knockout blow from eventually landing.

Ben's only hope re: intellect is to either knowing he must put the Hulk down in Round One if he has any shot at all in winning, or in drawing the Hulk into environmental hazards. I'd allow a draw where Ben ends up pulling the Hulk into a nasty little trap that Reed sets up while they're brawling, or gets the Hulk to leap into a Negative Zone aperture, something like that. Its not actually Ben *winning* the fistfight, hand-to-hand the Hulk is simply going to win every single time, but the Hulk is pretty stupid and I'd be fine with Ben pulling of a technical KO. Its up to you to then decide, did Ben "win"? A fistfight? IMO, no. Did he come out ahead in the "encounter"? Sure.

Just as long as Thor is not willing to kill Banner.
Otherwise he could just do a Sentry
Into the sun it goes.

And that is the reason Hulk can't lift Thors hammer.

Herc gained the upper hand on an enraged hulk with only moderate effort through fisticuffs alone. What makes you think Thor and his hammer couldn't do it?

It's like you don't even read comics.

The Hulk has always won in a knock-down-drag-out fight against The Thing.
Thing only ever had his street smarts and the rest of the FF as advantage.

Hulk is no match for gods like Thor or Hercules, especially not against the fully unleashed magic of Thor and his hammer.
>>
>>87176758
She-Hulk wants the spidercock
>>
>>87177961

Thats a 30 year old chart. Colossus was incredibly strong even in his early appearances and back then it was always said for him that he was still a teenager and he would grow stronger as he grows older.

A skyfather is no metric for how weak a person is, those motherfuckers insanely powerful.
>>
>>87176724
Do you? Sounds like you just read powerlevel threads. The Thing is top level durability, Spider-Man would hurt himself before he could do any significant damage to the Thing.
The real tip off you know shit about comics is that you wrote "spiderman" and not Spider-Man.

>Muh intelligence
When are you people going to learn that intelligence isn't everything? A 5'5 scrawny Asian nerd is still going to lose to a 6'0 brawny jock, no matter how much he can outsmart him. The physical difference is just too much and there's no technique or move that can help someone completely out of his weight class tank a punch from someone clearly above his league. The Thing is that Asian nerd and Hulk is that jock.

This is why you're never going to have the average woman beat the average man, no matter much she trains. Men just naturally have larger, stronger muscles, denser bones, higher pain tolerance, and overall combative instinct that makes him the superior fighter.

Doesn't Wolverine go superhuman strength mode due to accessing hysterical strength with his pseudo-magical bones and healing factor prolonging and sustaining it? Even in the movies, Logan jumps impossibly high and lifts people like they're nothing. The comics is even more ridiclous.

Y'know, there was a time when the Hulk wasn't constantly getting stronger during a fight. It was only during moments when he was really enraged that his strength would increase just enough to give him the edge over whatever he was fighting.

In the Avengers/ Defenders War crossover, him and Thor stood deadlocked for, according to the narration, almost an hour, with neither giving ground as the pavement cracked and crumbled around them.

This thing that's become so common these days, with the Hulk's strength increasing every second, just serves to make any sort of physical conflict involving him pointless.

I don't mind Hulk being the strongest there is, I don't mind him being able to push himself past his limits to overcome opposition, but its just been exaggerated to a ludicrous degree.
