I never understood why after Flash, Atom, and Green Lantern got silver age updates with new costumes, gimmicks and power upgrades, Hawkman was replaced with another guy with the same name and same costume that uses the same weapons. Only he was an alien instead of a reincarnated guy. His backstory on page 1 was the only thing that changed.

They could have at least made the wings real, or given him a scifi technological mace or something. And possibly not make him perfectly identical to the golden age Hawk.

Just ignore the team up books, they never know how to write multiple characters and they always use Batman as the asshole because he is the only one popular enough to survive it.
