I'm okay with Kate. They introduced her right - a slow introduction as a supporting character for years before they finally foreground her.

With their other legacy replacements they're rushing it, making the pushback much stronger. Marvel needs to learn about frog-boiling methods.

Hickman never said anything about calling it "earth prime." That was 100% Brevoort because he's been trying to get the "616" designation changed for over 20 years. This was his one shot at it and he boned the whole thing up.

The 616-8 designation is the best one for differentiating pre- and post-SW for the small handful of scenarios where it's at all relevant.

Because Wiccan was originally named "Asgardian" until the realisation that "ass-guardian" might not be the best name for a gay superhero, especially one that has almost 0 connection to Asgard in the first place. By then, Speed had already been named and him changing to get a rhyme going with his brother wouldn't have been in-character.
