I have Infinity, but I've yet to open it. I've been trying so hard to find something to get into but I've been left with nothing but bland heroes. I can't say too much because the only other comics I have are Batman and Hellboy, and Green Lantern: Rebirth. I also own a bunch of older floppies of Uncanny X-Men like the super size X-Men vs Magneto and Death of Professor X issues that my uncle gave me forever ago.

I want to like Marvel, I really do but it's just so hard to find a decent footing.

I hate the constant event cycle.
I stopped reading the post-Secret Wars books I was reading (New Avengers, Ms. Marvel, Doctor Strange, Ultimates) because they were getting tied into events or cross overs.

I felt like I might jump back in, but wouldn't you know it Civil War 2 started up putting books back into event hell.

Also, Rebirth has taken over my pull list. I can buy more books that I enjoy with DC's $2.99 price point too.

Today? Today I hate Marvel because they announced they're walking back their "Fuck The X-Men" editorial direction, but without announcing the new creative teams. As though they can win readers back by throwing a few titles out instead of saying anything of substance. We don't even know which Iceman or which Jean Grey will headline their solo books.

They're trying to coast on raw nostalgia and that worries me. That they don't understand that book announcements are worthless without talent or plots or characters.

I'm bracing myself for an X-Men line of mediocre-to-bad writers and artists because of it.
