This. It's hard for me to trust Marvel as a whole anymore. The titles I do enjoy reading now is solely because of the creative team. I don't pick up a book because it's a Marvel comic, I pick it up because I have encountered the creative team before and I liked their work.

There's a lot of Xfags who deserve better after what happened to the franchse and I do hope Marvel will give the mutants a Renaissance.

I actually found it surprisingly tame in that department after rereading it. Everything after Hama is a bit of a blur for me, but the preachiest issue under Lobdell was the Christmas special, the one where a deformed kid who takes a school teacher hostage turns out to be a regular freak instead of a mutant. For the most part, it's just teens hanging out together, being stupid (that one's mostly Chamber though), and the themes of friendship are explored much more than the usual mutant drivel.

I won't even consider something with Land or Deodato on art; nor with Bendis, Slott, Soule, or Hopeless writing.

And looking at what I just wrote it occurs to me that that's almost 100% the fault of shitty editorial because after his shitty runs on X-Force, Star-Lord, and the pathetic Black Vortex crossover I'd pretty much decided never to trust Dogfucker either ... but people kept going on and on about Green Lanterns and while it's not nearly my favorite Rebirth book it's pretty solidly amusing so far.

Same thing (in reverse) goes for Soule: I enjoyed his run on Swamp Thing as well as Thunderbolts ... I can't think of a single thing he's done since he went exclusive that hasn't been mediocre at best.

I guess what I'm saying is that I'd very much LIKE to by hype; because I used to be the sort of x-fag who'd read anything with an "X" in the title ... but right now I'm down to All-New Wolverine and THAT's only readable in sofar as it completely ignores X-23/Angel and whatever else is going on over in Hopeless's shitshow. So Yet Another Relaunch/Marketing Push just doesn't seem like it's gonna cut it; because the line needs a hard continuity reset to fix 10+ years of nonsense (going back AT LEAST to fucking Schism; which, given the Team Blue/Team Gold, doesn't look likely) and even that won't save it unless there's a serious shake up of the assholes responsible from the top down, because just relaunching titles and swapping characters in and out of teams is nothing more than shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic.
