>Average rating 6.5
So it's just terribly mediocre. OK.
Decent songs, adorable characters and the world that were made to sell toys.
Dreamworks is safe, but they could try something more ambitious from time to time.

Saw the trailer in theater today. Looks like by-the-numbers family flick
>6.5/10
Seems about right

Critics are more forgiving of animated films.
They give stuff a good score if their kids enjoyed it.
>>87136168
Its good for kids as a distraction
Its really really mediocre
>>87138318
Simon and Garfunkel too
>>87136168
>literally borderline rating, especially if you adjust down one point like I always do to adjust for paid reviews
>but it's still fresh you guys!
This is why the RT metric is terrible. Like how the consensus of the critics on BvS was 'eh, it's... it's got a lot of problems. It's not terrible though' but it got a big fat smelly turd of a rating.
none of that matters thoughporn of the grumpy smurf troll boning the chick troll when
inb4 it wins an Oscar over something beautiful and life-touching because the Academy doesn't watch that ching chong nip shit from foreign countries

My 6 year old nephew has basically no attention span, this was bright and colourful enough to capture his attention for 90 minutes. 6.7/10 serviceable time killer
Starting a thread with Rotten Tomatoes should be banned
Rotten Tomatoes means nothing. I'm not apologizing or passing judgement until I see it.

This year racist furry movie should win the Oscar(i dont like it anymore but it's topical at least in america) if The Rocks's movie will get it instead that means Academy is a bunch of ignorant geezers who treat animation like cartoons.
>>87139606
>Who treat animation like cartoons

I still don't belive that this winned the oscar. Is not terrible, but not even the fandom lived enough to support a sequel

Seconded.
Hair-jobs when?
>>87136168
good. just a few more safe movies before dreamworks makes something that actually has a deep meaning.
I want Dreamworks to crash and burn already

Probably has a "progressive" message.

But anon, Sausage Party already has the next Oscars in the bag.
>>87145105
Is this official? They have a nomination for a movie that's not even out yet?
Kubo should win on a technical level even if the story was a bit hackneyed but Zootopia will win which isn't the end of the world. Havn't seen the one with the turtle in it though
>>87136168
I thought the film was pretty solid.
Nice music numbers, likeable characters. Did quite a lot with no real reference to go on.
I was expecting garbage and got very nicely surprised.
Seeing Storks tomorrow. I hope that's good too.

Yep. Disney pay their dues to the Academy, so they're allowed to send a copy of their film to the nomination board before its official release. This way they can advertise it as an "Oscar-nominated film" before it's even out in theaters.
