"It's flavor is by turns 'unpleasant' and 'peculiar' and its texture varies between 'coarse' and 'slightly gelatinous.' Apparently, elephant tastes like spam."

I can speak from experience, elephant ain't good eating.
I tastes kinda like shitty beef, or at least it did for me cos I had it in a stew. But its tough as balls and you gotta marinade it for days or soak it in coke to actually tenderise it.
In Kruger National Park in South Africa they have to cull the elephant population every so often to prevent the elephants from eating literally all the vegetation. They used to give the locals outside the park free elephant meat, partly cos hey, free meat and partly to try and prevent people from going into the park to poach. Didn't take long for them to start refusing the elephant meat.
Kudu and Eland? That's good eating.

I actually like tough meat. I enjoy chuck or bottom round more than filet. But yeah, like you said, that sort of thing is best in a stew or thin cut. They say they best part of the elephant is the feet though. As a fan of pig feet, I bet they would be pretty good.

They do have this soft pad which sort of like, softens the impact of their feet and prevents their footsteps from making noise. I dunno what it's made out of though. If it's fat that could be good eating. Bare in mind though, they have a very different foot structure from pigs.

Why is there outer skin all the way around a steak?
>>87135476
It's a shank steak.
>>87135480
Then it's about twice the size it should be, even for an elephant.

Just because spam looks like catfood doesn't mean it tastes like it
Jesus, guys, get over yourselves
>>87135518
Well yeah, but

Have you seen the absurd sizes of the ones that are supposed to be beef in say Tom and Jerry? Steaks are always shown absurdly big.
>>87135559
Sure, everything's exaggerated. But this is the biggest of many big teaks from T&J and it looks big but comparing it to Jerry's size it's probably a little over a foot long. Huge, yes, but not bigger than the animal it's coming from.
