Marvel is mad at Fox for making money off the X-Men with movies, so they marginalize the X-Men to reduce interest in the characters.

Pushed by bleedingcool and other such comics rumor sites that noticed a drastic lack of X-Men (and F4) characters in licensed products such as toys and merchandising, especially once Marvel started really pushing the Inhumans.

We knew X-men was coming back this year and next though. Getting Marvel legends waves (that aren't poorly distributed exclusives) and lots of reprints in TPB in 2017, as well as the re-launch

X-men is getting TV shows. Legion is happening. Hellfire was developed and not picked up, but marvel dropped a couple of their pilots as well, so it happens. A 3rd x-men related show is in development and may be picked up.

I hope of course we see more. Video games, products and so forth. Cartoon would be great, but yea..... all of this stuff is good. Something clearly happened a year ago or so for all this stuff to be happening now. I dont know what happened in 2015 to re-focus on x-men and make sure it was not a forgotten part of the brand, but it's getting decent treatment again.
