Great as Thrax was they really couldn't get quite to his level with the show simply because they had to keep the show just a little more kid friendly, watching a white blood cell start slowly bubbling up and bursting just wouldn't fly.

But to me, Thrax always felt like an endgame boss who was supposed to appear at the *end* of the franchise, rather than the beginning.

In a similar example, I haven't seen Kung Fu panda 3, but I doubt the new villain could live up to the breadth and scope of Lord Chen

The show could've easily brought him back as an escaped soul from the Underworld or some bullshit, but it was probably for the best that they actually let deaths stick so at least Grim wouldn't seem like a total joke (even if he really was in any other circumstance).

William from Code Lyoko is kind of intimidating, and was very intimidated when I was a kid. I looked forward to seeing him fight Ulrich.

MMX showing up in the Ruby Spears cartoon. He wasn't a villain, but seeing an episode start with X in the title kicked off my tween-mind being *blown away* when he carried the episode.

Vile was in that episode, and he was on another level compared to Megaman's foes, from a time when robots are stronger. It was clear in his introduction when non of Megaman's attack harmed him, if X hadn't gone back too Megaman wouldn't have stood a chance.
