Being MMOs, the games will give you more context for things over time, but there's no central story that will quickly explain/expose everything that comes up in the series. If you specifically want to know about the setting, I would recommend reading through the wiki (there's isn't that much there) and/or asking here.

It's relevant to add that the Dofus eggs are made of Stasis (at least primordials since they're purely dragons) and Ogrest, who was born from Ogrines, is purely made of Wakfu. So the contact between Ogrest and the Dofus provoked a shock between the two energies that led him to a physical change and aberration.
