Why the crossover helped Tec more than it helped Nightwing?

And sad to see New Super-Man so low..
>>
It seems Flash is the biggest hit of Rebirth (excluding Bat-titles), Titans seems stabilized and is the best amongst monthlies. Nightwing and Hal Jordan took huge hits, auch.

Cyborg and Blue Beetle has had the shittiest debuts so far.

Aquaman isn't doing as well as I expected, it had some pretty big drops. Same with Nighwing and New Super-Man.

Happy for Doom Patrol, hopefully it keeps selling.

Marvel literally on suicide watch

>>86999778
Nightwing's biggest problem is it has still Bat-title baggage and it's completely ignoring Titans status quo.

Instead of showing Barbara every single issue, Seeley should have referenced Wally's return.

Green lanterns are new reader friendly, that's probably why it held better than Hal Jordan in long run. I've never read a GL comic before and it made following GLC extremely difficult for me.

Hopefully, this will continue to do well because it is seriously good.

Flash has a huge boost. Is it because of the show?

>Green Lanterns is going better than Hal&GLC
I like both of them, but I prefer GLs.

What happened with Nightwing? That a huge drop and Batgirl isn't doing well either.

Blue Beetle and Cybrog have the weakest debuts since far..
>>
>>86999892
Lobdell is fun, but not seriously good
>>

Fucking a, this book is damn good and should be selling more
>>
>>86999901
To each their own. I think the book is seriously good and I'm enjoying it.

>>86999870
Hal's books were always hard to follow because the writers seem to assume that the readers know everything about him.
>>
>>86999950
Continuity heavy books are the ones suffering the most in this list. Superman should be selling better but it doesn't, Action is doing shit. Nightwing pretends you read Grayson and ignores Titans existence and as a result it took a nosedive in sales even with crossovers.

Flash seems to do the right thing. They completely ignored the Rebirth plot for those coming from TV show and kicked pre 52 Wally out of the book.

that and a lot of old readers came back with wally's return.

but Titans is continuity heavy and it's doing well. Flash literally referenced Crisis on Infinite Earths and Wally is appearing next issue, so much for ignoring. Action Comics is shit and has Jurgens.

>>86999996
It's still doing pretty well. If it wasn't for Civil War II, Marvel wouldn't have jackshit on the top ten. After that, you don't even see another Marvel Book until #24 (Unless you count Star Wars anyway), and it's fucking Spider-Man which holy shit also in a fucking Event.

I don't like big event stuff and that's what Hal Jordan seems like. I want a character driven book and Green Lanterns gives me two of them. And Jessica is a cutie
>>
>>87000119
Titans is stabilized and Nightwing is bleeding even with crossovers. Wally and Dick both are low A-list anyway, so these two titles will probably sell around the same numbers in the end.

You forgot to post Nightwing #5's position which is above Titans.

>>87000167
>Declaring it stabalized after having had one of the biggest drops of any Rebirth title.

We might want to wait a bit on this declaration. Besides even if it does go on to outsell Nightwing, it was still competitive to the point where they are occupying similar space on the sales chart. I don't know where people are getting this bogus idea that bringing in Wally would somehow help Nightwing despite Titans already having Nightwing + Wally + Donna + Roy.
>>
>>87000055
>but Titans is continuity heavy and it's doing well.
it's literally fueled only by wallyfags

>Flash literally referenced Crisis on Infinite Earths
only old readers could understand it. there was nothing casuals would be confused of.

>and Wally is appearing next issue, so much for ignoring.
he's delegated to guest starring. wally used to be the star of that book, for 20 years to be exact. now he's used for gimmicks to gurantee sales.
>>
>>86999822
Green Lanterns is top notch.
>>
>>87000259
>You forgot to post Nightwing #5's position which is above Titans.

That's still a HUGE drop from the last month, which is the point anon is trying to make.

Why would bringing Wally into Nightwing be a bad idea anyway? It's better than Barbara poisoning the book.

They're trying to have a lot of female-lead books to attract an audience that doesn't exist. I'm wondering what bottom-of-the-barrel characters they're going to try dredging up next.

However DC's high is doubtful to last long term, just a short term boost due to restarting everything.

Doom Patrol had returnability and some hype over it. In some stores it really sold well and others they only sold a portion of copies. They do when it's fucking Doom patrol going up against Marvel biggest hero. Spider-Man being that low is laughable
>>
>>87006478
How popular the Robins are outside of comics?
>>
>>87006837
Especially when Doom Patrol is not expected to be a big seller. DC knows that Young Animal is going to be their niche market, and they won't expect huge sales from it. They'll probably see more in trades. The fact that something they expect to be niche is selling so well out of the gate should build confidence for the line.
>>
>>87006884
Jason seems to be the most popular with the casuals and Dick is second behind him.

Damian is pretty much hated by them and I don't know about Tim.
>>
>>87006837

>>
>>87006940
Tim is literally who? Right now
>>
>>87006884

>>
>>87006837
But remember, they put returnability on the first three issues of Doom Patrol and the Young Animal line. Retailers ordered a lot on #1 because they can take the risk on it and want to see how many actually sell. The real test is #3 (the last returnable issue) and beyond (non-returnable).
>>
>>87006884
Most people only think there's 1 Robin and see him as the Burt Ward version. Jason is kinda known now because of Arkham Knight.
>>
>>87006940
Outside of YJ Dick's had a surprisingly shitty time with mass media over the last couple of decades. The Arkham games pretty much punchlined him, and well... Batman and Robin.
>>
>>87006884
Hard to tell since we don't have merch sales really but with the general public most don't know more than one Robin exists and Robin is just "well known" and not "popular"

But Nightwing or Red Hood are probably decently popular compared to Tim or Damian due to more exposure
I know Red Hood was one of the most requested people for Injustice but most of the people requesting him are probably more comic savvy
>>
>>87007031
Yeah, plus the Under the Red Hood movie was popular.
>>
>>87006901
You realize these were just copies that were ordered right? We don't know how well Doom Patrol is selling on average and you simply can't base that off of a #1.
>>
>>87007038
You're forgetting about Teen Titans, The Batman, and B:TAS. Dick's had it pretty good over the years.
>>
>>87007038
Not really surprising considering how little people in general (developers, writers, fans, etc) really don't care about Batman's cast outside of Alfred, Gordon, and his villains since them having any spotlight would be redundant and would take away from Batman.
>>
>>87006940
I guess the animated movies didn't do any favors for Damian while UtRH and AK did wonders for Jason.

DC actually cared and put effort to keep Batman popular by giving him the best writers while Marvel doesn't care or even know how to keep Spider-Man popular.
>>

>>
>>87007255
This would've been okay for an event book like Original Sin or Axis, but this was a book obviously done (and in a rush) to capitalize on the Civil War film being out this year. Remember that the Millar Civil War sold extraordinarily well and boosted up sales of other titles that tied-in. CW2 though, it's so far doing okay (though bad for what it is; Hulk died and no one really cared) but sales have dropped on tie-ins.

Nighwing #3 was the 25th bestseller last month

>>
>>87008449
We haven't actually seen the sales yet anon but compared to Flash..woof
>>
>>87008683
Flash had an extra month, so its sales are going to drop off more slowly. Plus the new season of Flash just started, so stores are probably going to order more Flash because of it.

Nightwing seems to be dropping, but it seems to be at the same rate (if not better) than the other July books. Hal Jordan's probably around 60K. Red Hood dropped from 80K to around 50, same with the Batgirl books (though they have smaller drops)

Nightwing fans are delusional. They think he is an A list character that should sell higher but the truth is he will always be an overachieving B list character. DC doesn't need to care about him because his book does better than they expect for a lower tier character.
>>
>>87011251

ANAD Marvel tends to have steep drops from issue 1 to issue 2 but their titles stabilize quickly. Like what Black Panther did for example. Rebirth DC titles seem to be bleeding readers from issue to issue.

People are definitely going to make a bigger deal than they should be about Champions issue 1 to issue 2 drop regardless.

Hard Numbers of how much each title have sold has been posted. DC Rebirth A-Listers still holding strong, monthly titles however at best case scenario lost like a third of their previous orders. (I sure ass hope New Super-Man settles at atleast 30K since it's spot on 40K is spotty at best). DC Universe Rebirth #1 had more orders than fucking Sixpack and Dogwelder, I sure am glad it's a mini since I already know it's gonna be cancelled. Vision is at 20K, sadly Sheriff of Babylon is half that. astonishingly Scooby Doo Apocalypse had more orders than a lot of books than I expected, like Gwenpool and Civil War Choosing Sides and the fucking Shithumans. Flintstones is sitting at 142, but it's not doing as bad as say, Vote Loki or Hellcat or Dr Fate or Bloodlines (Yes this is a thing again and I think it already ended), Mockingbird, Squirrel Girl or Nighthawk. I'm expecting Rebirth Numbers to settle for November before getting propped back up by JLvsSS and Rebirth Wave 2. Speaking of SS, The Suicide Squad Minis are also a huge flaming bag of failure.

Retailers ordered 2.05 million comics per shipping week in August versus 2.04 million comics per week in September. Compare that with last September, when retailers ordered 1.41 million comics per shipping week, and you have a month — led by DC's Batman #6 — that looks pretty good on the comics side.

It's not as bad as CBR is making it up to be.
