Man, I wish this show was good, but a majority of each episode is basically the same thing.

"Watch this zany chain of events happens that ends in a gigantic clusterfuck that seems almost impossible to even happen!"

Also the snide nerd who wants to fuck the red head is annoying. We get it, he hates milo because she would rather walk around with walking train wreck that ruins almost everything rather than him and he's mad.

It just feels like there's no fun, I think P&F might have been just them catching lightning in a bottle.

Honestly, I think it's because of the sub plot line. If I had to guess at all.

I think the perry sub plot line in every episode helped break up the flow of the main plot enough that it didn't feel like such a forced progression and a way to fill time. The more I think about it, if those extra 4+ minutes were used on them building shit or talking about random crap about their creation, it would feel a little more boring.

There isn't really any focused action going on anywhere else in this established world, like the theme song says 'It's my world, and you are all living in it.' it all goes back and focuses on milo and nothing else.

It feels like they're laying the groundwork and the show will be much stronger once they have the comedic gears running and there's more gags. "Rooting for the Enemy" was already a really good episode with several witty P&F esque jokes.
If anything it seems like the show is more flexible in P&F because they can take the force of nature that is Milo and place him in different environments and scenarios. P&F kept to the same couple of settings for the most part, which is part of why it felt so samey. MML can actually avoid that trap if they're constantly exploring new terrain and writing high-quality jokes.
