Unlike the previous two seasons, the show has improved in many of the areas where attention wasn't heavily drawn. The biggest thing is that the flashbacks are actually watchable now, compared to the Chinese ones in S3 and the utterly pointless Lian Yu Part 3: Magic Bullshit ones in S4.

7/10. And on a scale that's not watered down as fuck. While there wasn't anything truly exceptional that went down, the episode was solid throughout and sets the standard for what Arrow should strive to achieve going forward during its smaller/less ambituous episodes.

Glad that they're not reviving the old season 1-2 trope of Oliver having to keep a secret from those he's closest to. At the same time, the new team - Artemis in particular - require a lot of character building. I liked Ragman, at least, and Curtis was alright. It would be intriguing to see Wild Dog go his own way halfway through the season because I'm not sure how else they'll keep his rebellious fresh and not irritating. Maybe something along the lines of Roy Harper in S1 of Young Justice (or if they want to go balls deep, they could have him go bad).
