At this point it could go either way. Rose has a history with Dick but Judas Contract is associated with Terra.

Especially when the writer has actually gone to the effort of making it fairly plausible and executed it rather well.

I really hope they don't fuck their relationship up by having Slade be some evil bastard and Rose just hate him. I enjoy this "at arms length" approach. I like that Slade wants to be a good father, but as Wintergreen said, he's just...not good at expressing himself. He fucks up, Rose gets mad and then after a few months she...misses him because, at the end of the day, he's her father and she can understand that he wants to be better and she'll try and give him another chance...and Slade will disappoint again, but because his intentions are good, Rose will always be there to give him another chance. I feel that if you fuck up his relationship with Rose beyond repair, if you kill of Wintergreen and Joey, then...then you kind of kill the Deathstroke character.

Batman knows better than most what childhood trauma does. Damian and Rose were forced to become killers by the people that raised them. Batman is smart enough to know that it's not their fault that their worldview is twisted. It makes way more sense that he would help them reclaim some of their childhood and redeem their murderous actions with their skills by teaching them to become heroes rather than reject them outright, leaving them to continue their murderous ways and become crazed super-villains down the road.

I don't know all that much about Rose/Ravager, but Bruce teaching Damien not to kill was an entire arc for Tomasi and Gleason. You don't teach a child assassin how not to kill overnight. Since they grew up surrounded by death and murder it seems like no big deal to them.

Damian never kills again after saving Batman from Nobody. The whole joke is that the last person Damian killed was Nobody and the entire arc was dedicated to him never killing again because he learned the lingering pain of murder felt through his father's lifelong mourning.

I think Priest needs to read Tomasi's Batman and Robin run more closely if he continues making comments like that. Morrison originally wrote Batman rejecting Damian as Robin because he was a vicious little killer, but then Final Crisis happens and Bruce goes away. Dick isn't the kind to reject eager young orphans from becoming young heroes regardless of background, so of course Damian becomes Robin.

The Titan with the biggest ax to grind against Slade was Beast Boy, and that was only after Terra's betrayal. Nightwing/Deathstroke didn't start to build till Titans Hunt and the death of Jericho.

So Deathstroke is the best Rebirth title right?
