No, Filoni drew some concept art during TCW for them, but the ideas for it never left his artbook.

Since then, nothing, and I would wager than they aren't coming back because he and Pablo jokingly admitted that the Vong were controversial when he showed his concept art.

Star Wars toys are considered socially acceptable. Everyone loves Star Wars.

The "everything is equal canon" is the coolest shit I can think of. One big multimedia universe. Just feels so awesome reading a book and thinking about how it "counts".

It's funny how the MCU doesn't have near this amount of connectivity. Contradictions aside, they can't even get the movies to acknowledge the shows. Not even the critically acclaimed Netflix shows. And here you have Star Wars making some literally who from the Clone Wars years ago into the main character in a movie.

Literally everything is connected to something else in a minor way, and it's very rewarding to experience.

Yes I do. Crossovers in comics and such are common yes, but not in a huge multimedia franchise across many different medias, and certainly not on such a huge scale where the creators are proudly creating an equal canon.

Compare to the MCU. Are there any MCU books? Tv shows (that they actually care about and treat as canon), or cartoons, or comics? Nope, only the movies "count".

Star Wars is the biggest example of an all-canon multimedia, and that's very exciting.

Not really necessary, since that was a retcon to try to connect two conceptually similar characters. Her lightsabers don't actually resemble the ones Ventress had in the EU (and funny enough, in the Clone Wars microseries they look completely different from how they were being drawn in the comics at the time).

TCW does not, I repeat DOES NOT, fit with the EU. George made no attempt at hiding that he didn't consider the EU canon, not even when working on TCW. There is a ton of inconsistencies when trying to fit it into the EU, such as pretty much all the Jedi deaths. The Wook desperately tried to work around it, but fact is, TCW was never ever meant to fit with the EU, but was the first step in replacing it.

You know, the only reason that book wasn't made Canon is because they know they would want to use Kenobi in the future, and didn't want that book to cause problems.

Heir to the Jedi was also being finished at the same time, and was allowed to be Canon.

But yes, it makes sense that the EU would try and fit in with TCW, even if it wasn't happening vice versa, because Leeland was trying to maintain the tier system so that the books still had a place. It was kind of a mess though, glad it's over.

Books can get really bad like that. There are some about naval/air radar systems and they go for 4000.- IIRC because they're out of print. I also remember someone posting one about the Tomcat that went for 1000. Not sure who would ever pay that much, but there seems to be no limit to how stupidly expensive books can get.
