Was catching up on my reading earlier and there are times I just wanna drop a book because I can truly get full mode autistic when it comes to fights. Having spent more than a decade training and practicing and coaching Wushu, it really grinds my gear.

Take Cass' kick form for instance. Look at that. I know you want to make her look badass cause Cass is badass but that fucking awful kick form just lost her credibility. I'm not even done with the artist of these issues.

"The what is going on here" is rhetorical. I can easily interpret the pictures. My point is that they are childish garbage and the majority of the panels do not depict anything a trained fighter would do. You didn't explain why Cap is flailing around like a child, and why/how Batroc is using his asscheeks to trip Cap.

What's so bad about that fight scene? Miles is all like "wtf is this bitch doing?" While Gwen tries and fails to kick him and he punches her once she goes for a dagger.

Comic books have always had pretty boring fight scenes. There's always a cliffhanger at the end of one issue that shows a full-page spread of a big bad guy that just showed up, then the next issue begins, hero punches bad guy once, bad guy punches hero once, then they just move on with the story so they can have another cliffhanger fight at the end of that issue.

There's some exceptions, like Larsen's Dragon War run where fights lasted whole issues, or Scud's excellent fight sequences, but those are pretty rare.

Even major crossovers like Civil War which has big potential to have some excellent fight sequences are pretty much just full page spreads of people punching each other and then move on with the story.

You're losing interest in comics because you've just grown up. And they're no longer doing it for you because you've lost some of the imagination that has graced your former childlike mentality.

I'm not sure Cap even had any hand to hand combat training at that point. Martial arts hadn't made as big in impact in American pop culture to implement that. So yeah, Cap is basically just brawling. It wasn't until the late 60's when Bruce Lee started getting huge that you see more western superhero stuff start to implement Asian martial arts into how the characters fight; probably started with Batman since Dennis O'Neil has a huge love for Asian culture and martial arts.

What I dislike about comics is that a lot of the dynamism from sketches get lost in the inks. Every line is the same weight so nothing stands out past the darks, and it's uniform to look at. In manga (well drawn manga like Murata's OPM), you don't get that.
