Shit, you know what? I only JUST noticed that halftone pattern for their living room floor. I don't think this was ever done before or since in the specials. It's just for this one shot. They were doing pretty cool stuff with the watercolor painted skies anyway, but shit, how did I completely forget about that near scintillating halftone rug?
In any case, 60s Peanuts specials were easily the best, they followed closely to Schulz' style while still having the rawness and human element of the best cartoons of that period, instead of, you know, tracing off the model sheets.

Honestly after the CG movie, I think I'm good for Peanuts animation. Mostly because even though its a reboot, it ends up providing a little more closure for the overall franchise.
