The problem with Magneto isn't that we don't understand his point it's that he's on numerous occasion stuck that shtick wile attempting to commit atrocities that make the one he was damaged by look like a day in the park.

This is the problem with "deep, well motivated" villains. It all amounts to a sob story. You loose sympathy when you become 100 times the monster you whine about and try on numerous instances to do worse.

Depends, classic Doom, probably nothing too deplorable, though he was always a jackass.

But say, on Waid's run, he tortured the Fantastic Four, stuck Franklin in hell I think, and turned is girfriend from youth into a suit of flesh armor.

In JSM's Thor run, he played Mengele on a bunch of asgardians he captured with Loki's help and turned them into undead soldier abominations.

Same with, say, morrison's Magneto. When Marvel's feeling particularly edgy, they shit on every character they can.

Galactus is a great villain that isn't a villain at all. He just needs to feed on planets to survive. He doesn't do it because he's evil, humans aren't considered evil for eating animals to live so why should he be?

The point of Magneto isn't revenge. The point of Magneto is to have his tribe triumph over a competing one that has been overwhelmingly hostile towards his own,in order to prevent a mutant holocaust. It makes perfect sense. You can boil every conflict in human history down to that motive.

Xavier believes that mutants and humans can coexist, but he's been peddling that bullshit for God knows how long with no effect.
