I bet scholastic is regretting buying all those copys.
>>
>>86812007
They bought it and that's all Marvel cares about.

Unless moms start getting triggered and it appears all over the news nothing will happen.
>>
>>86812007
Thanks for making another thread on it op
>>
So any guesses on how much issue two does
>>
>>86812164
60-70k, book will settle around 40-50k
>>
>>86812164
80-90k, it's THE big Marvel title besides Civil War II.
>>
>>86812176
Isn't the lowest Rebirth book at around 70k
>>
>>86812176
This seems about right maybe even 80k

It's going to be around 40k by the 4th or 5th issue though.
>>
>>86812284
Ew
>>
>>86812195
ANAD Avengers and Invincible Iron Man were marketed like that too
>>
>>86812007
I bet the kids ain't.

All them scantily clad bound clown women.
>>
>>86812478
True, but i think the teen gimmick will do well.
>>
Why the fuck did Marvel put FUCKING RAMOS on what they're calling their flagship book? Are they blind? Ramos is supposed to be filling material for lesser X-books, not flagship material.
>>
>>86813596
Not with Ramos on art. Marvel actually has a good line-up of decent artists yet they still out Ramos on this. Hell, the art is the only good part of Civil War.
>>
>>86812176
This seems very generous desu.

Not that it matters since Marvel will just relaunch this team again next year anyway, it's tradition after all.

It's almost as if these kids were a group of new warriors, if you will
>>
>>86814508
Kid Nova will always be one of the worst hero names ever to me.
>>
>>86814508
I miss the days of the awesome D-list heros doing awesome shit.
I loved that series.
I have basically the entire first run.
>>
>>86814660
I love D-list villains so much. Guys that would never threaten Thor or Cap but could pose a challenge to like a city block or some shit. I miss good old fashioned powered thugs that just want to steal some jewelry or break a dam.
>>
How much did "Champions" #1 sell? Is there an estimate?

I know Marvel's put out press releases in the past for when books sell gangbusters before the official numbers are released.
>>
>>86814690
That's too much fun.
They have to be walking strawmen for something but ultimately not inform anyone or want anyone to change anything.

I know that's an old timey thing in comics and was a cheap way to get popularity and be current,

But just D powered villians robbing stuff and blowing stuff up or horror movie or beyond the stars type villians are sorely missed.

I guess, comics aren't for me anymore. Hell anime is mostly all terrible softcore porn, awful romance, and low budget action.
>>
>>86814794
I mean, I've been looking through my old marvel collection and there's always been that kind of annoying preachy tone where the author was just using the character as his mouthpiece. That's pretty much always been a thing and is never going away.

But like, you have alternatives to that. If you wanted commentary you had Book A, and if you want fun adventures and great character interaction you could go with Book B.

But Marvel seems to have mixed their peas and carrots together and I really just want peas. I haven't read comics in ages because every character I used to like is in some sort of limbo or being written by Bendis.
>>
>>86814837
It's possible to have commentary and superheroics in one go. The problem is that Marvel's writers aren't subtle with it.
>>
>>86813732
i think its because of miles.

they really like ramos drawing the spider characters. i could do without him.
>>
>>86814900
That's true. Star Trek managed to balance commentary well with its sci-fi setting and made it either believable or at least interesting.
>>
>>86812195

Is that in amount of how much Marvel sells them to retailers, or how many actually left the shelves of comic shops?
>>
I have to admire that they at least kept there promise of tackling serious issues. And they did not really pull there punches on it.

Which just makes me wish even more that the rest of it was good.
>>
>>86814958
Only on good episodes.
Half of Classic, Seasons 1-2 of Next Gen, and all of Voyager and Enterprise were not such episodes.
>>
>>86812007
I be scholastic reviewed the content of the book before it bought them, like a good distribution company does.
>>
>>86817686
Well i assumed so but then i read the book.

The only reason i gave it a chance was thinking scholastic knew something we didn't.
>>
>>86816062
Yeah. Clowns are becoming a bigger issue every day.
>>
>>86817955
Alright yeah the clown makeup was a bit much but i still stand by what i said.

This comic could have been so fucking good.

>This comic could have been so fucking good.
>modern marvel

Yeah, nah.
>>
>>86818259
The seeds were there in some of the character interactions.
But they pretty much fumbled it all.
>>
>>86818618
I agree. Waid had a really good premise, but didn't manage to deliver a good execution. Which is quite the impressive feat, considering how often we see comics with bad premises, but well executed
>>
>>86815107
>Is that in amount of how much Marvel sells them to retailers
Marvel doesn't accept returns, so Marvel sales are always how many they've put out, not how many were bought
>>
>>86818683
Yeah, inthought vision sounded dumb as fuck but it turned out pretty awesome. Ive never been so glad to be wrong.
>>
I really liked the bit where kamala sliped up and said carol instead of avengers.
>>
>>86814774
300k or 400k preorders I think was their estimate
>>
>>86814774
400k, 300k to scholastic, Suckers of the Year.
>>
>>86820440
>>86820644
Why order so many? Who's going to be buying them?
>>
just storytime it already
enough with counting someone's else money
>>
>>86820694
That's what I was about to ask.
What is Scholastic going to do with all these issues? Sell them in their monthly catalogs to school children?

Because I miss those things. I also miss the book fairs. That's where I first started reading Magic Tree House.
>>
>>86821520
They still do both, my niece orders from the catalog every year. The book fair is a bit more rare though.
>>
>>86821520
>Scholastic distributing that piece of liberal propaganda

Except ANGR did the same thing with out the need of using twitter for moral support.
>>
>>86821520
We would scholatics buy floppies though?
>>
>>86821760
I don't even know, unless they plan to give them away. Maybe there's a press release.

Kinda hard to call him our Lord and Savior when he's 100% phoning it in on Batman. At least we still have Sheriff of Babylon.
