l read an article a while back that explained how shipping has changed recently. Ordinarily, ships were simply fun ideas for fans to think about and write stories about, understanding that they had no say in canon, and the characters hey shipped probably wouldn't even get much interaction in the actual source material. Lately though, people are taking shipping way more seriously. They desperately search for some kind of vindication from the show's creators, and get hostile when their ship is denied. Take what happened to Lauren Zuke, for instance. She was attacked for simply showing preference for Lapidot through her pics. Tumblr gets rabid when told that their ships might not be canon, or when a rival ship appears and threatens theirs. Once upon a time, no one cared who shipped what and people just enjoyed their own headcanons. Now it's dangerous territory.

You know, I can't see the cast of Voltron in a normal HS setting. The military academy and the space war is what makes it interesting, with the characters adapting to the situation. Putting them in a realistic mundane setting would honestly just make the Voltron cast just like normal people and probably won't be the characters we know.

Lance's rivalry wouldn't be as intense because apparently there's only one spot on the fighter pilot position. Pidge's entire motivation would have to change because her brother and father weren't kidnapped by aliens, which makes local rescue impossible, and Shiro's entire personality wouldn't be the same if he wasn't tortured by aliens.

Not only can you filter out tags of things and opinions you don't want to see, it's considered rude to post a contrary opinion in a tag where most people think differently.
