We've seen this happen every single time a new cover by Miller is released. People (i.e. idiots) laughing and pointing fingers at it because they think it being heavily stylized and not anatomically correct makes it bad.

It's no different from people saying Frank Quitely's art is terrible, failing completely to see the true artistry and craftsmanship behind it.

I'm sympathetic but I wouldn't want to produce work I wasn't proud of irrespective of health, or other declines in abilities. There's a reason why people like Peyton Manning retire at what's otherwise considered a young age in most other fields and why some one like Kirk Douglas wasn't taking film roles post his stroke (with minor exceptions where it was written into the character).

JMS apparently can't write certain things in a form that is competitive in that industry, so he's no longer going to work on graphic novels, etc., but he's still intending to do other work. Miller should take a lesson here.

Like singing and running, you need to keep it alive and active, even a few weeks with inactivity will rust your skills immensely, and Miller's been quite busy not dying.
It'll take a long time to get back into drawing shape.
