Back when all this started, the LSG was talking about watershed moments. Things where everything before it leads up to it, and everything after it is a result of it. The destruction of the Death Star was one. As was the Second Death Star. And the LSG said the Battle of Jakku was another. Possibly the last until TFA. Jakku is going to be the focal point of the climax book of the new canon's flagship trilogy, Aftermath (inb4 it doesn't deserve that status). It was touched on briefly in Lost Stars, a major entry in the Journey to TFA campaign. It was a Battlefront DLC. At the rate Rebels is going, with the number of seasons they've confirmed, it's reasonable to guess Rebels will end around Jakku. Point is, the Battle of Jakku is a really big thing in the new canon, and Rae Sloan is being set up to be a major player there. That is what she's being built up for in novels, comics, short stories (Insider and other), etc.

Well if by their gear, I'd agree. Hunting actual Mandalorians, I'd find that hard to believe. I really don't think Boba would've been able to take on an actual trained Mandalorian. Well, the Protectors are a bit tricky. Filoni said that they are basically a royal guard. Meaning that they would probably align and present themselves with whomever the recognized leader of Mandalore is. I like to think that those who make up the Protectors are probably from differing houses and clans and present themselves in relation to the recognized leader of Mandalore is. The current protectors might actually be doing whatever the fuck they want as far as how they look is concerned. Though we know at least that Rau's look goes as far back as the Clone Wars. And during that era, Satine was Mandalore's recognized leader. So yeah, it's a bit fuzzy there knowing her policy on Mandalorian supercommandos.

Why do people get so worked up over canon?
None of it actually happened anyway. It's all fiction.
And from a certain point of view, things from before the buyout, espesiacally stuff like Plagueis.

No. If you pay closer attention, you'd know straight off Sabine and Bo-katan are not related at all. Sabine is from Clan Wren, which was traditionally subservient family to House Viszla. Bo-Katan is from House Kryze. If Sabine was actually Bo-Katan's daughter, she'd probably take the Kryze surname since her mother is of higher status.

Also, not to be 'that guy' but the ethic difference between the two should be enough to show the lack of relation between them. Bo-katan being white and Sabine being oriental (space asian) and all.

That would probably depend on the social ranking of the parent. As far as we know for those who hold to the old ways, it's House> Clan> and then probably commoner. If a married couple doesn't take the surname (either man or woman) then the children I suspect at least take the name of whoever is higher in the social order, assuming the union is of people of different social status.

So IF Rook Kast is actually Sabine's mother, then it could be that Kast is a pleb and the father was from a Clan. Thus assuring Sabine gains the name and the status with it.

It does, but I'll give you a summary. There's a chip in every clone's brain that basically forces them to obey. Exactly what trigger command is needed to make it activate isn't clear (it may just be the words "execute order 66"), but when it happens they sort of go into a trance where they unquestioningly obey and kill the Jedi as ordered.

Honestly, Plagueis wasn't that great. Luceno did a good job with characterizing him and especially Palpatine but it's a weak story that's padded out with a lot of continuity porn and once the book reaches the TPM timeframe it kind of craps out and just repeats existing scenes with Plagueis standing just off-camera, adding nothing. The book just went on autopilot at that point while it waited for the moment to show Plagueis's death, which Luceno botches because he wants Palpatine to have a big victorious speech while he does it.

Hera actually made me like her less as a character in that first episode. If Ezra hadn't made the call he did, the rebels would have had none of the fighters, and have wasted the fuel spent getting there (which is a genuine problem for them, as shown in past episodes). He made the call that Kanan, or even she would have. But because he 'risked their lives' (you are volunteer soldiers in a rebellion bitch, how many risk free missions are you expecting?) his was 'wrong' and his rank and position is suspended. Mission sometimes go to shit. Especially when you a an undermanned rebel cell with few resources.

I get that it was just a reason for the crew to work together again, but they could have handled it a better way, than making Hera come across as the overprotective and condescending team-mom. Even her attitude sucked.

Literally all George needed was an editor to go over some of his clunky dialog, and maybe a handler to get the actors where they needed to be and the prequels would have been received 10,000% better.

I've made a turnaround myself. I accept the good with the bad TPM has Tattoine which I love,Qui Gon, pod racing makes you go BOOM, annoying Jar Jar, Jake is an annoying shit, AoTC is the better movie imo because Anakin is raised around wooden fucks, grows to care for someone, sand nigger genocide for good reasons, Obi Wan's detective adventure, and I love RoTS period.

It helps I'm out of touch and I like to form my own opinion because it's all a matter of perspective. I think Clone Wars should have been made earlier but we would compare Hayden even more and he wouldn't have been able to live up to it. Hayden in the second act of RoTS kills it imo because the way he uses his eyes and his fall is believable for wanting to save the woman he loves.

It does help I played the fuck out of Battlefront 2 Utapau demo on RoTS which has different structure in the main game's story.

I like how the modern mandos are basically a feudal system straight out of game of thrones. You've got the leader with their own Protectors (Kingsguard) then you've got the Houses which are major clans (I.e Stark or Lannister) and beneath all of them are the clans that ally themselves to a specific House (i.e Bannermen)
