Hey there, /co/mrades, I started reading Remender's Uncanny X-Force and thought that it might be fun to storytime it together with all of you. We'll be going through the entire series, as well as it's follow-up, Uncanny Avengers, Remender's event AXIS, the all-too-brief second volume of Uncanny Avengers, and hopefully finishing off with Rage of Ultron. Barring some unforseen disaster, we'll have a thread a day, and we'll do about 8-10 issues per thread. I hope you all enjoy this crazy ride as much as I do!
I don't have a 4chan pass, so please bear with me when I'm being slow.
Aaaand I just realized I spelled Remender's name wrong in the title. Welp.jpg
fuck yeah op, this is great comics
well mostly
>>86778697
There keeps being Remender UXF storytime threads that pop up and then die after the first arc but its my favorite x-story so godspeed anon
>>86778719
Let's hope this one
>>86778705
How about putting a name?
>>86778716
The Captain Britain arc is ass, but everything else is golden.
>>86778740
Good shout.
IT'S MAH BOI
If you guys don't love our favourite Diabolik rip-off, you will by the end of this run. I promise.
Get used to Fantomex's powers being total bullshit.
I'm not a fan of Deadpool usually, but he's used really well in this series.
Aww, isn't that cutest 'lil mass-murderer you've ever seen?
If you're enjoying the story, give us a wee bump! It keeps the thread alive.
Gonna keep the recap pages in, just because they make me a wee bit nostalgic.
>>86778973
Don't worry about the filenames on that one by the way, no page was skipped (as far as I can tell).
If shipping wasn't cancer, I'd ship Deadpool and Fantomex
"Ineffectual comic relief" Deadpool is so much better than "lolsorandom" Deadpool.
I'd still hit it.
Esad Ribic's covers for this series are fantastic. It's a good reminder, after Secret Wars, that he can be an amazing artist.
I wanted to read this after hearing the opinions here. Thank you OP
>>86779194
I loved these designs. It's such a pity thatRemender killed them all
>>86779232
>>86779243
>>86779256
>>86779263
So did Apocalypse and Ozymandias go to these places and somehow nobody is noticing them or are these holograms?
>>86779278
Why did Apocalypse choose these particular mutants as his Final Horsemen anyway? And why didn't he awaken them after Decimation?
>>86779283
Perception filter, bruv
Ozymandias isn't a mutant, right?
Remender is so good at action scenes. He really makes you feel like these heroes are in dire straits.
I feel like Death would crazy OP against literally anyone else but Wolverine.
>>86779399
He is. Jeb Lee (Famine) is also pretty damn OP.
Fantomex-Brand Bullshit strikes again!
>>86779424
Wait, so if he gives you cancer, but then he leaves, your cancer is gone?
Slash-fic when
>>86778902
Remember Deadpool is best Deadpool
Being Apocalypse is suffering
Thanks OP, definitely one of my favorite titles and team comp.
>>86778697
I remember reading this, it was an absolutely brilliant run.
It makes me sad to see how far Marvel has fallen.
>>86779484
I'm not going to say that Remender was all that was holding Marvel back from going full retard, but I will point out that they went to shit pretty much the instant he left.
Remind me again WHY they didn't ask the X-Men for help in fighting Apocalypse and his Horsemen? There is literally no reason to do do this themselves.
Time for the finale of the Apocalypse Solution, and, ho boy, this one's a doozy.
>>86779507
It would expose their secret hit squad
>>86779526
No it wouldn't. They would just need to say "Deadpool found some intel on Apocalypse, they're on the Moon, call everyone".
>>86779507
X-Force is basically the X-Men's black ops team, doing the dirty work required to keep the mutants alive whilst remaining secret. They've done some shady shit they don't want to get out.
They aren't out to defeat Apocalypse, Angel makes very clear they're out to MURDER him. Both compelling reasons why they can't just call the police, so to speak.
>>86779543
I don't think any of the X-Men would bat an eye if Wolverine were to kill Apocalypse. Magneto and a bunch of other X-Men would have been totally on board with it.
That's So Deadpool!
(Laugh Track)
>>86779543
Since they don't know that Apocalypse is a kid, how the hell do they think that the 5 of them could possibly defeat him and his Horsemen on their own? They needed all the help they could get. If this had been a fully-powered Apocalypse, they'd all be dead.
Being a faceless goon must have really good life insurance options.
>>86779601
I assume that these mooks are supposed to be mutants depowered by M-Day, but what's up with the bird-headed people?
Remender stops cheating like this as the series goes on, I promise.
>>86779635
I they're supposed to be masks. Could be aliens though. Dunno.
>>86779613
>>86779631
How come none of these goons have guns and they all use those impractical blade things?
This whole sequence is A+
>>86779642
How did those 3 get off that planet?
Also Fantomex, after seeing these guys ridiculously OP powers, do you really think some alien beasts could possibly kill them?
>>86779669
the art in this run was just stellar, loved everything about it.
oh fuck
I wonder, is Fantomex the first Marvel superhero who is also a child killer?
>>86779758
honestly didn't think the book would go there with this part
>>86779758
Nah, Frank has totally Franked kids before
>>86779758
Well, Bishop certainly tried.
Gonna take a quick break here folks, I'll most likely be back to do the rest of today's issues within the hour. Hope you're all enjoying the ride so far!
>>86779631
i just love the action sequence and flow in the page
>>86779635
i assume its a fetish
>>86779797
Thanks again, dude
>>86779782
No he hasn't, not even in Max.
Aaaaand we're back!
Little standalone issue before we move into the next arc.
>>86780091
wb and thanks again
>>86780143
Fantomex is such a dick
>>86780166
I know, isn't it great
>>86779504
All the people with actual writing talent have left
Brubaker, Fraction, Remender, Hickman, King.
Ewing is trying to hold the place together but he's not match for the Bendis/Spencer two pack
>>86780143
Remember when Lady Deathstrike's motivation was killing Bullseye to avenge her father's death?
Just finished Dark Angel Saga. It had a good setup but by the ending it fell apart. Way too many Deus ex machina and asspulls and illogical plot development. Remender really wrote himself in a corner there. I'd say first arc is good, second really good, parts leading up to Dark Angel Saga really strong too.
It turns out this whole plot with Lady Deathstrike was supposed to lead somewhere, but Remender ended up using her in Secret Avengers instead, same with Father.
>>86780307
Everybody forgot about it after her 3rd appearance, anon. She entered the pit that is X-Men and now there's no way back.
>>86780329
I should probably read Secret Avengers. Always wondered what Father's deal was.
>>86780360
I read it and I'm still not sure
And now, onto the second arc of the series, the awesomely-titled...
DEATHLOK NATION
One of my favourite things about this series is how it expands on concepts from Morrison's New X-Men.
>>86780442
Yeah, Weapon Plus is a cool concept. And there's still a bunch of Weapon Plus subjects that haven't been revealed yet.
I can't decide what's my favourite ever Deadpool moment: this, or the one at the end of the series.
:(
>>86780693
How the fuck did Fantomex pierce The Thing's rocky skin with a knife?
>>86779453
Because his Deadpool is Lethal Spiderman, and also a very despression man who make joke, which is fit Remender
Betsy going all Bojack Horseman here.
I wonder who voted for what? (if Wade is serious, that is)

I love Esad Ribic sound effects.
pretty badass senpai
In this issue, the gang MURDERS TOMORROW
>>86778799

For our last issue today, let's set the stage for the Dark Angel Saga!
The Deathlok mission was yet another thing that had no reason to stay covert, they should have called the X-Men or the Avengers.

>Why am I the only one with telepathic dampening plates?
Because you're a Gary Stu.
Also, because you refuse to share.
>>86781869
DADDY ISSUES. Remender sure loves them.
>>86781844
>Because you're a Gary Stu
Is a deliberate Gary Stu still a Gary Stu?
Welp.
>>86781921
Yes, unless it's in a comedic book
This is going to end well for all concerned.
>>86781966
After this, kind of makes you wonder why Shadow King goes along with the Brotherhood's plan later.
That's it for today! Hope everyone had a good time. We'll be back tomorrow for the Dark Angel Saga, hope to see you then!
>>86782041
thanks again sir
>>86779302
Because "Blood of Apocalypse" was a mistake.
>>86778697
Absolutely fantastic run, even with the filler. Between this and Gillen's run, X-Men just wasn't the same after the two ended.

ancient mythologies have bird stuff. also egyptian mythology (apocalypse would be in to that) has humanoids with animal heads. the egyptian god of knowledge and wisdom is Thoth, with the head of an ibis (sometimes a baboon)
>>86779574
>>86779507
it's really interesting because remender has the characters warning each other about secrets in like, the first issue of this (maybe it was the second?) which is what beast told cyclops and emma.
maybe if they talked about it to others, they would not have wanted to mess with Apocalypse because so many people can die?
beast, nightcrawler, shadowcat might have batted an eye. don't know iftheye would have stopped it, but it would have bothered them a lot. it's one of those "if you could go back in time would you kill hitler" thing. but i don't think beast would have seen as something that simple. if anything they could have been successful at changing him. psylocke kept archangel in check. there are plenty of mentally powered beings that could have instructed him to be benevolent. there are also many extraterrestrial characters that could have mentored him as well, like silver surfer
