It's not the fact that Ben and Kaine actually got stories made them not suck. It's that they were both great characters who spawned from an otherwise overly long and completely shit event. Had the Clone Saga been handled from start-to-finish by writers who knew what they were doing and not the marketing department looking to make a quick buck off of the next Age of Apocalypse, it might have been one of the greats and Ben might still be part of Peter's life today.
