I always thought Krypto, awesome as he is, is a bit too silly. Kryptonians not only look like humans but they also have animals that look, sound and behave like dogs?

Ace is a great addition though. And he even makes a lot of sense. I mean, Batman taking in a stray and training it into an attack dog? Fuck, that's practically Jason Todd before he got crowbar'd.

Superman rebirth has the classic design which is pretty consistent from the Silver Age to today (except for the Wolf Krypto in your OP images).

I had no clue Batman had a fucking dog. I had heard of Batcow (just in passing) before I'd heard of Ace (and only then because of watching Batman - The Brave and the Bold on Netflix, or I'd still be pleasantly unknowing).
