Fox (and sony) and Marvel got along pretty well in 1998-2004. Marvel was pretty happy with the first two films, toybiz got to make toys and it increased brand recognition, things were great. In 2005 Marvel got the money to make their own movies and tried to renegotiate on the properties they sold off. Fox and Sony kindly told marvel to fuck off and made x-men 3 and spider-man 3, which marvel did not care for.

universal and paramount did opt to renegotiate and marvel got back iron man, hulk ect. Sony of course did as well

Now the mouse owns marvel though...... so... Fox and disney are bitter rivals. Fuck, almost every studio hates disney. So....things are..... going to be dark times for a while.

Yeah, now that Ike the Kike has been pushed out of the movies, Marvel Studios has been maintaining a fairly amicable relationship with other studios. I wouldn't be too surprised if phase 4 of the MCU had a Fantastic Four movie co-produced similarly to Spiderman: Homecoming.
Or maybe phase 5. F4 isn't exactly a hot brand right now.

Fox and Disney still really aren't cool with each other. Fox is working with Dreamworks now. George Lucas undersold Star Wars to Disney so Fox wouldnt get it. Now Fox is playing every type of fuckery they can with the DVD/Blu-ray releases

They ARE co-operating on Avatar, but its theme park shit. Fox basically gets free money for something they wouldn;t do anyway. Versus say universal who wants to keep marvel heroes in their theme park, but....so does disney.

Maybe they can work this shit, but it likely wont be viable till after Spider-man homecoming is a proven success for disney and sony. Once that works Fox may be interested in playing ball.
