Okay, it's been a while since I read JLU, and most of what I remember of that book was Ultraa the multi-alien and The Legion coming in to hijack the title in the second arc.

Wasn't Alanna supposed to be another human from earth this time around? And didn't Lemire set up a new schtick with the Zeta Beam where Adam and Alanna swap places, rather than just Adam being sent to Rann?

Well if I remember correctly the Zeta Beam fucked up and Adam became the beam for a short while, letting him see the whole of time and space, which led to the premise of setting up teams perfectly tailored for each mission. Can't remember if Alanna's situation was already dealt with during Lemire's run, considering how slow paced it was and how it got fucked by the Legion crossover.

And you really should read Parker's run. It was phenomenal.

Really good actually, even if I'm kind of sick of the Rann-Thanagar rivalry, this was much better than the Infinite Crisis companion piece, and way way better than JLU and New52 Hawkman, here's hoping Hawkman doesn't actually die, though if he does it won't stop me from enjoying it.
