The first panel, Is... Killgore trying to jam a vibrator down Vic's mouth?
>>
>>86751467
WHAT A TWEEST! Pretty solid read, it's stilted and the dialogue is laughable but it feels pretty as the other anon said "Bronze Age". Also this thing wasn't stretched out in like 6 issues, books that resolve issues in one issue are always good in my book
>>
>>86751467

well shit.

I am enjoying this. weird.

This.

The last panel >>86751467 could be straight from a Silver Age cover. I'm actually really surprised by how much I've been enjoying this book so far.

What a time to be alive!
>>
>>86751179

Well before Rebirth started we all assumed Deathstroke and Cyborg were mad for double shipping but Deathstroke opened to strong numbers. Guess we have to wait and see.
>>
>>86751467
This mini arc wrapped up neatly and was a nice throwback to older comic cliffhangers. Really looking forward to the rest of the series
>>
>>86751410

And still do
>>
>>86751342

Why bring up human slavery of Vic's race when he's trying to convince him he's not human anyway? Seems counter productive.
>>
>>86752052
To show him that being black human sucks?
>>
>>86751199
>>86751215
I like a robot villain that can recite Shakespeare. It's a good contrast to the usual I am a robot with no emotions villain.
>>
>>86751730
True dat
>>
>>86751271
Oh shit oh shit. Is the Avatar of Machine life one of those silhouettes?
>>
>>86752392
Yes. She was on screen in Rebirth and was shown on panel in last issue. Don't be surprised if Cyborg Superman shows up.
>>
>>86752392

She was in the last issue man. Though from what I remember of the machine Avatar I can't see her meekly taking orders. She is the Machine Queen after all.

I'd actually like for the book to go this way now. With all Kilg%re's (How do I pronounce this?) talk about humans being traitorous bastards and slavers I want to see his bosses forces descend into in fighting and backstabbing
>>
>>86752409

Cyborg Superman is in Supergirl's first arc
>>
>>86752438
That must mean he can't show up anywhere else.
>>
>>86752448

Well when the guy Cyborg is dealing with is using nothing but defeated and forgotten robots I would be very surprised
>>
>>86752438
There's more than one Cyborg Superman.
>>
>>86752409
>>86752428
Well as a huge fan of that run, I'm glad to see stuff from it popping up.
>>
>>86751125

That's his booyah blaster.
>>
>>86751179
I think it will do fine.
But its at least in the realm of possibility this will go back to monthly unlike those mad aquaman will be monthy theorys.
>>
>>86751303
I dont auctualy mind the exposition the villan is giving even if it is blatently obvious.

But the exposition cyborg himself gave at the start was horrible.
>>
>>86751271
I hope that does not include amazo fuck amazo.
>>
>>86751290
You dont need exposition for something that was just sumerised.
>>
>>86751307
I think they should probably have given that second panel a full 2 page spread.
Or at least a page
Or even a panel twice that size
>>
>>86752817
But yeah an oportunity for a nice wide shot of the church would have been good.
>>
>>86751410
He was using the slavery that vic was likely to be more knowledgeable of.
And the metaphor does not work if they are both the same ethnicity.
>>
>>86751354
>and i can acess and control electricity remember.
Ok look i am loving this book and i understand the need for exposition but why do they keep giving exposition on things that have already been covered eariler in the issue.
Or even eariler in the page with the cameras and satalites.
>>
>>86751369
I like both how strong kill&ores argument is and how quickly vic refused it.
>>
>>86751467
They are obviously going to have to cut back on the exposition but i hope they dont go to far in the other direction and have to little exposition.
>>
>>86751410
You know Cyborg's a black american, right? I think the slavery in the Americas will probably hold more significance to him than that in Africa.
>>
>>86751410
>why isn't he being factually accurate while trying to mentally manipulate someone
Well golly gee, you've got a point there, triggered anon.
>>
>>86751467
A big fight and a twist, enough to get me back here in a fortnight.
>>
>>86752734
It bugs me because there is not even a conversation for it, and Cyborg isn't even curious to it. He just spouts it so the writer can explain a mundane and reasonable change to an obscure villain and toss in shitty references.
>>
>>86753249
The exposition was certainly overdone. I don't think the writer knew how to clearly illustrate his point so he ended up overloading text.

Just needed the reference to robots being used and discarded, and then appealing to Cyborgs human side with the slavery thing and you basically get everything you need.
>>
It's a solid plot, but a little rough. It just needs a better artist or a co-writer. A co-writer would massively improve the quality of books which are written by writers from other mediums.
>>
its good
>>
>>86751271

>>86751307
WHY IS THERE SO MUCH EXPOSITION AND DIALOGUE?
>>
>>86754081
>>
>>86754139
>>86753272

John Semper normally works on cartoons so I imagine that he didn't think huge amounts of dialogue is a big deal.

>>

This was a surprisingly very good issue! I' m impressed!

>>86754866
Yeah. Wish he got some comic writer to help him out.
>>
>>86751226
holy shit this writing

are dc trying to push cyborg for movie synergy or destroy him entirely
>>
>>86754866
I dont mind a lot of dialouge but mentioning the cameras and satalites twice in one page was to much.

>>86755556

>>
>>86757188
I can tell from this dialogue DC is clearly trying to find a voice for Cyborg that doesn't hearken back too much to that disgusting CN cartoon from years ago. They owe his popularity to it, but want to distance themselves from it, which is understandable. Only time will tell if they can do it though.

I like what's happening in this book, but Semper needs to chill down with the, well, it's not even exposition, it's like early Marvel having a chracter introduce you to the setting, but even then that was only in the introduction, this is happening all over the book.
>>
>>86751436
Distance from Chicago to Tampa ~1000 miles.
Radius= distance from center of a circle to any point on it's circumference.
>1000 mile radius from Detroit.
that bitch just killed the power to everything from the Eastern Seaboard to St. Louis and all the way down to Orlando, Florida; as well as literally all points north potentially reaching towards Russia as the distance could go over the north pole.

please note that other potentially affected areas do include Greenland and half of Canada.

>>
>>86751467

That was the most comic-ass comic book that ever comiced. I loved it. It didn't try to be anything other than a straight up, uncomplicated bit of super hero fluff and on that level I enjoyed it.
>>
>>86751467
Christ, this is stiflingly mediocre, much like most of Rebirth. I suppose as long as you hit the notes of a generic, feelgood capeshit, that's all it takes to be well-regarded in this current comic market.

When we move forward, will this era be known as the fucking hugbox of media consumption? Nobody seems to want anything new or different or interesting, they just want the same thing they've already read so they can feel "comfy". Movies are the same way. I suppose this isn't the place to rant about it, but jesus fucking christ.
>>
>>86780617
How is this feelgood?
I see most cyborgfags complaining about Vic suffering in it.

>>86751436

>>86780673
Nothing bad really happened, Cybro cracked some jokes and beat the bad guy all while reaffirming his humanity, which is the most boring and generic plot anchor you can have for a character like Cyborg. Nothing was lost and the plot lumbered forward with a tease for next issue.

How is any of this "suffering"? Pretty much everyone in this thread is praising it for being fluff.
