It bugs me because there is not even a conversation for it, and Cyborg isn't even curious to it. He just spouts it so the writer can explain a mundane and reasonable change to an obscure villain and toss in shitty references.

The exposition was certainly overdone. I don't think the writer knew how to clearly illustrate his point so he ended up overloading text.

Just needed the reference to robots being used and discarded, and then appealing to Cyborgs human side with the slavery thing and you basically get everything you need.

It's a solid plot, but a little rough. It just needs a better artist or a co-writer. A co-writer would massively improve the quality of books which are written by writers from other mediums.

I can tell from this dialogue DC is clearly trying to find a voice for Cyborg that doesn't hearken back too much to that disgusting CN cartoon from years ago. I like what's happening in this book, but Semper needs to chill down with the, well, it's not even exposition, it's like early Marvel having a chracter introduce you to the setting, but even then that was only in the introduction, this is happening all over the book.

Well I won't lie, this was fun, which is more than I can say for a comic featuring Cyborg. It felt like a Bronze Age comic, a bit repetitive too but it was pretty packed, thight storytelling.

Nothing bad really happened, Cybro cracked some jokes and beat the bad guy all while reaffirming his humanity, which is the most boring and generic plot anchor you can have for a character like Cyborg. Nothing was lost and the plot lumbered forward with a tease for next issue.
