Hasbro almost never has an exact release date. The only time they ever say "these toys will be available on September Xth" is when they have specific street dates for product launches to tie in with a new movie. Beyond that, the closest they ever give is a month of the year and it's never guaranteed that you'll actually be able to find it at that time. Due to shoddy distribution issues and stores not ordering due to pegwarmers taking up space, it may be months before you see it.

Case in point, Ahsoka was a May release. Some people are just now starting to find her in stores.

Battlefront is not canon but most of it's content is. Commander's story is canon and so is it's content. So the Empire did use Umbaran Artillery during the Tattoine battles.

They're not playable. You collect Pick-Up's and they fly around as AI, you'll barely even notice them. There is no way to play as them, nor B-Wings, Y-Wings, or TIE-Bombers, despite them all having the models for it in the game.

Shit sucks, I love Defenders. Finding out they're in the game, and then immediately seeing that they aren't playable was like a kick in the balls.

The only solace I can take is that Lucasfilm let this design be used twice now, and Dice have said that they are very strict on what can't be used, so Commander wasn't a mistake, they absolutely treat it as Canon. We can expect it to show up in Rebels eventually.

Battlefront hasn't done much for making anything Canon, aside from a few EU locations, the Jawa city in McQuarrie's artwork, and some weapons. Latest DLC added some from the Jedi Knight games.

Commander has been a huge dump of information about what the LSG considers Canon in terms of Vehicles. It's pretty neat actually, the Rebels are mostly using salvaged Republic and CIS stuff. Well, Ultimate Star Wars released at the very start of the Canon wipe, so there was very little information to speak of.

Ultimate Star Wars is marketed as being information on 1-6, and TCW, but it actually does have some extra stuff in it. It has information on the main characters from Commander, The first few episodes of Rebels, some characters from Son of Dathomir (the only comic out at that time), and some information from Tarkin, and A New Dawn (the only books that were out at that time.)

So, if they do an Ultimate Star Wars Volume 2, it will likely include all of the new stuff from TFA, Rogue One, Rebels, Battlefront, the comics, Books, Uprising, and the past couple years of Commander updates.

So I am keeping my fingers crossed for something like that. Especially now that Uprising is shutting down, we need another official source to explain what happened there.

Technically both aren't by nature of that the info in them is subject to change. By that I mean that it new stuff would have to come out to make up for what both books haven't covered because they didn't exist when they were published. And to also fix errors that either might have.

So I read through Servants of the Empire and Lost Stars and is it just me or is Snoke kind of ...pointless?

I mean like, I get the first order now. When the empire blew only the most insane and stupid kept fighting. Then those crazy motherfuckers got together and made an empire that was even more insane and crazy than the last one. Which is why they kidnap babbies and why Hux is so screechy and angry all the time. But you don't really need a supreme leader who can use the dark side at that point. You already have a bunch of officers and leaders who're crazy enough to star another galactic war.
