Canadians make so many shitty cartoons because they're suppose to make canadian-made content to boost that Canadian Nationality Patriotic stuff. T

hey need to meet a quota.

That's why so many of them are shit

They have a mandated number that they for some reason have to make every year so they just make a cartoon out of anything

And it's all done in Flash because the shows HAVE to be made in Canada. They could be traditionally animated if they were allowed to outsource.

From what I've read and been told Canada's animation industry works different than what it does in America.

The focus there is basically quantity over quality. Once your show gets approved you and your crew must pump out all the episodes of the seasons that got funded.

Serialization is heavily discouraged, and you can easily notice this with the most mediocre shows in their roster. Once you've one, you've seen them all.

Pic related is a Canadian show that got entirely reworked to be more character/DEEPEST LORE-driven. So far it's good but it hasn't caught on and I feel extremely autistic for hopelessly making threads about it.

I've been starving for action cartoons as well. Atomic Puppet fills the role of Miraculous Ladybug pretty well so far, too fucking bad finding info about upcoming episodes and release dates is extremely hard, so it seems I'm doomed to have nothing new to watch during Ladybug's hiatus.

The dialogue is pretty good but the reason it gets to shine more is because of that retooling I was talking about. They're trying to stray away from letting the show devolve into yet another formulaic cartoon. There's actual effort poured into this show and it feels so bad that it's not getting the attention it needs.

Nerd Corps isn't a bad studio. Storm Hawks and Slugterra are pretty OK. And their first show Dragon Booster is honestly one of my favorite cartoons. It's cheesy but the world and the lore is awesome.

If YTV goes through with the semi live action reboot reboot with kids playing the users I'm firebombing the corus headquarters. I worked as an extra on a YTV show(2030 CE on the season that got cancelled before editing) and they just do live action shit to give people jobs. The film was donated to the university of winnipeg and I met the guy who was assigned my episode randomly, we were volunteering at the same arthouse theatre and got to talking about local film making and he told me why everything YTV films is terribad.
Fun job though, the guy who Played Ratt was the nicest dude on set and preferred to hang out with us background plebs and I got to wear snazzy shock trooper getup because I was one of his thugs.
