Rebirth is more serviceable than post Crisis DCU of late 80s/early 90s. This will give us some great runs like that period did, other stuff will be forgotten. Now DC has experimental shit with Young Animals and those minis, hipster shit for vertigofags and WS Rebirth for 90s nostalgiafags. It's too early to say if it ends up being the best period everrrr but it certainly is the most diversified.

Wildstorm actually kept DC afloat and had some of the best writers in the business working on it (and spawning some of the best writers and artists we currently have now).

It's easy to dismiss a lot of early Wildstorm stuff as "edgy" but it was really novel at the time, they brought in a lot of new ideas and helped boost Image.

People like Jim Lee, Alan Moore, Warren Ellis made Wildstorm what it was.

Hawksmoor has always been one of my favorite and at times my #1 favorite super hero. Have you guys read the story where they reveal his origins weren't alien? That he was given powers from the City Gods in future, where Earth is one big city? That was some of the coolest, most imaganitve writing I've seen in comics.

New 52 fucked up Stormwatch by making it the Authority vs Ayy Lmaos! instead of what they were, Stormwatch being the UN and world governments official super hero team and the Authority being this anti-establishment group that mainly defended the Earth and it's various multiverse incarnations.

He's a legitimately smart guy who went to Princeton University with the aim of medicl school, then he said "Screw it, I'm doing comic books." He spent years learning how to draw, got on the X-men when they blew up huge, and jumped ship to Image. He got out of the Image bubble before it imploded and sold off Wildstorm to DC. This was somewhat scummy since he promised to stay independent, but he escaped much of the market crash.

Then he managed to get into the old DC office despite being on the West Coast and everyone hating Image babies at DC.

He's a very good businessman who happens to draw comics.
