It's funny how they act like they are the ultimate good of the universe and the only thing that keeps it from going to shit while every other cosmic comic shows how badly they've failed. Vega is Vega, Colu was a mind controlled dictatorship for centuries, the Citadel existed, Durla had a civil war that made their whole planet uninhabitable, the Psion kept their women as breeding stock and Rann blew up after being at war with Thanagar for who knows how long. But no, the Guardians and the GL corps are effective and can totally protect the galaxy from evil's might...

The way the Guardians were handled was one of the biggest flaws of Johns' run in my opinion. I get the point was they've grown completely out of touch, but he's gone so far in the other direction that he completely broke the idea of them actually being successful for billions of years before Jesus Jordan showed up.
