these little rubber figures were the reason i was the first kid in my town to get into pokemon. i actually thought pokemon WAS monster in my pocket being redone and i had collected the rubber figures when i was like 5 and still thought they were pretty cool when i was in 5th grade.

saw an article in nintendo power about how big "pocket monsters" was in japan about a year before it came to the states. I remember looking up Japanese websites on slow ass dial up waiting for the images of the monsters to load. by the time the game/cards/tv show came out i was already hooked, It was awesome being the hipster pokemon kid, into it before it was cool, shining moment of my childhood for sure.
