Because depictions of blood would usually not be able to pass a TV-Y7 rating, as its too realistic. And in the case of CN, their shows only contain the bare minimum for TV-PG ratings, as the network doesn't want to risk more phone calls after the whole "pissed" debacle with Regular Show.
