This is true. The writing is kind of bad. Percy tries too hard with loaded social justice rhetoric, and it comes off as just telling instead of showing. Hell, the main villain of the first arc was just another generically evil villain organization that just happened to be a bank. There's nothing clever or interesting about the plot, other than nostalgic fanservice
