While I implore you to shut up with the SJW boogeyman, I must agree that the Zootopia we got is a great movie with a superbly balanced moral about prejudice which is not preachy nor taking sides by condemning one specific group, but instead focuses on why we all should try to better ourselves. Unlike the old version which was "stop picking on minorities!".

The red flag was when the test audiences told Disney that they didn't understand why the protagonists want to save the city so much. The test audiences see that the city itself is shit and that it is better off destroyed. This wrecks the plot as that removes any reason why the protagonists even want to save anyone.

I think that's because this is supposed to be from a culture where tattoos actually mean shit. So a 14 year old girl going on her first adventure with no prior accomplishments really shouldn't have any tattoos, whereas the thousand something year old warrior demigod with lots of heroic accomplishments to boast of should be covered in them.
