Single issues are almost never worth it. Almost five bucks for something with less shit to read than a grocery store magazine? It's just not good value. Not to mention it's all flimsy, loaded with ads, and like only 10% of a story arc if that.

The only time I buy single issues is if they're discounted in a bundle, or old ass backissues stores are trying to get rid of for a buck each. TPBs are better because even though they're expensive, they tend to be solid collections that tell a whole story and look good on a bookshelf.

I tend to buy the first issues of new runs for characters I like, and then I torrent the rest. If I enjoy the story I go pick up the trade.

That way I get a bunch of dope books I can show off on book shelf, and some bins full of Issue 1's that made me look like some kind of amazing comic collector to normies and my family.
