On the cartoon front, we had a couple of run away hits, Government checks being handed out for just dubbing animes, and people who wanted content over making a quick buck. Then Shaw decided to try and leave TV for while in a merry-go round of TV deals. The rise of Corus making a name in TV killed Canadian TV content and ratings for networks. Also the change to Government sponsorship for TV shows killed us in the TV market for a few years and still hurts animation to this day.
