Jackie chan never hated movies tho
>>
Miyazaki doesn't hate anime, he just hates otakus which makes sense.
>>
If you do enough research, you'll see that Moore isn't as "honest" with his hatred of comics/the comic industry as he seems. He was kind of pompous enough to believe that superhero comics should've just ended with Watchmen or Miracleman. But even then, he's just covering for the fact that he got fucked by working so hard with mainstream comic publishers and not realizing that he'd be better suited to creator-owned stuff (or just making companies/imprints/etc. where he draws up the terms fully), which he didn't start doing until the late 90s(?), when he was already past his peak.

Miyazaki hatred for the state of his industry is much purer because it's actually, objectively true, even while he was making bank and becoming more and more successful.

left guy's only good comic was maus, I don't see why he's so popular
>>
>>86301614
he hated kung fu movies. his favorite was The Sound of Music. look it up.
>>
>>86301877
>Muh superior tastes!
>>
>>86301566
Why does miyagi hate anime, and did moore honestly think an industry should go defucnt because he nitpicked on the morals of it?
>>
>>86301706
this desu.
>>
>>86301566
Neither hated their medium though. They loved it so much they just wanted it to be better.
>>
>>86301877
>Moore wrote maus
"no"
>>
>>86302003
He thought it should go defunct because it's 90% shit and he was right.
>>
>>86302244
Are you fucking retarded? Do you know how hackish and dumb that sounds?
>>
>>86302395
Truth hurts doesn't it capeshit fag?
>>
>>86301834
>late 90s(?), when he was already past his peak
What are you talking about? His ABC and Avatr stuff is some of the best comics of his career.

Also, Alan Moore loves the comics book medium, he just hates the big companies because he got screwed by them. He also doesn't hate superhero comics, he just doesn't understand why someone older than 12 has any interest in them(nostalgia aside, which he thinks should be avoided). And he almost certainly hasn't retired.

>This is not a topic I’m eager to discuss. I will say that when I was a child, from about 7 to 12 reading Superman, comics were an incredible stimulus for my imagination. They were brilliant. They were cheap. They were readily available. I don’t think that superheroes or superhero comics of today are aimed at children anymore.

>That to me looks slightly unhealthy. People have been saying since the mid-'80s that “comics have grown up.” I don’t think that’s factually true. I think what happened was that there have been a couple of comics that seemed to be reaching for a more mature readership, and that has coincided with the emotional age of the mass audience coming the other way.

>I am really in a bad mood about superheroes. I’m not the best person to ask about this. What are these movies doing other than entertaining us with stories and characters that were meant to entertain the 12-year-old boys of 50 years ago? Are we supposed to somehow embody these characters? That’s ridiculous. They are not characters that can possibly exist in the real world. Yes, I did Watchmen. Yes, I did Marvelman. These are two big seminal superhero works, I guess. But remember: Both of them are critical of the idea of superheroes. They weren’t meant to be a reinvigoration of the genre.

I don't think Morrison hated the medium, he just got burned out after spending so long writing Bone.

I don't know what Miyamoto's problem is, however.
>>
>>86302428
No you elisist fuck. Cape comics are still enjoyable and mostly good, meaning they should continue. What do you want to replace them, pirates?
>>
>>86301566
Neither of them hate the medium. They hate the industry.
>>
>>86301877
You are a retard.
>>
>>86301706
Why are you posting an animation done by Anno?
>>
>>86302597
>still enjoyable and mostly good
Objectively false.
>>
>>86302714
Because Anno hates otakus too.
>>
Hayao loves anime but hates everything else about it.

Moore hates comics and hates everything else about it.
>>
>>86302788
>Moore hates comics
Why do people keep saying this? He loves comics. He devoted his life to them. He's just angry it never reached the potential it could have.
>>
>>86302529
>he just doesn't understand why someone older than 12 has any interest in them

>he wrote Supreme for the 12 and under crowd

yeah nah
>>
>>86302714
Because Anno is a god tier animator who refuses to do more animation work himself.
>>
>>86302788
>Moore hates comics
>>
>>86303121
>makes a point to omit ALL capeshit
He's like the Cerebus poster from /co/..
>>
>>86303212
There's a bunch of capeshit on there.
>>
>>86303260
'no'
>>
>>86303313
Did you actually read it?
>>
>>86302729
Objectively true you mean, shittaste retard hack.
>>
>>86303368
yep
no capeshit
>>
>>86303436
>The Spirit
>Hellboy
>Marshall Law
>Grey-Shirt
>The One

>Not capeshit

Okay then.
>>
>>86302244
Every art medium is atleast 90% shit
>>
>>86303499
>>The Spirit
The only on you could maybe see as capeshit if you squinted hard enough.

Anyway, Moore is just a retard who is impossible to take seriously due to stuff like this
>>86302861
>>
>>86303499
>Hellboy is capeshit
>>
>>86303121

>Robert Crumb

He would like Robert Crumb, wouldn't he.
>>
>>86303536
Helboy is iffy. All the others are definitely capeshit though.
>>
>>86303631
>All the others are definitely capeshit though.
nope
>>
>>86301566
>Moore hates comics
Can we put this meme to rest, please? The ability to use a search engine combined with basic reading comprehension demonstrates that it is not the medium that Moore dislikes.
>>
>>86301566
Miyazaki by a good margin, the man is just a hater.

>called Fleischer Superman masturbatory
>shitted on Popeye
>shitted on Tezuka
>>
>>86303673
>Marshal Law and The One are not superheroes
Yeah, I don't think Moore is the retarded one here.
>>
>>86302641
This. Miyazaki doesn't hate anime, he hates that the anime industry is 99% moetrash because it has to make money and its easier to go the Johnny Test route than the Kubo route.

He might also hate its fans for giving money to the moe monster, but he doesn't hate anime as a medium.
>>
>>86303806
>>called Fleischer Superman masturbatory
But he used that as an influence on Laputa. He's a bit of grouch.
>>
>>86302853
>Why do people keep saying this?
Because they get all their information about Moore from sources hostile to him.
>>
>>86303806
>shitted on Tezuka
Except his reason was valid. He doesn't hate Tezuka, he hates the fact that Tezuka was holding animation back.
>>
>>86303579
What's wrong with Crumb? Mr. Natural is great fun.
>>
>>86303121
Well, time to flesh out my wish list.
>>
>>86303926
More like he hated how shitty he was at manga compared to him and the butthurt never left.
>>
>>86301566
They don't hate their media, they hate the people who buy endless cash-in bullshit.
>>
>>86304035
Nagai was better than both of them so who cares?
They all influenced the anime industry one way or another so enjoy what you like.
>>
>>86302597
>What do you want to replace them
How about whatever new stuff creators want to make, instead of the market being dominated by a single genre made up of the same bland rehashes.

>Watch old anime
>It just takes a big fat shit over every single modern anime out there
>There are no stereotypical characters
>There is no ham fisted injected moe
>It's a straight up interesting story that people want to see

I can't believe it has declined so fast and radically. There used to be a continuous train of great anime coming from Japan; now we're lucky to get 1 or 2 for an entire year.
>>
>>86304327
Your claims would have more validity if you specified what you watched anon. Personally many of my favorite anime came out in recent years, and it saddens me when people shit on it all the time. Cartoons aren't supposed to make you this bitter folks. Rakugo Shinjuu for example is one of the most sophisticated dramas I've ever seen, it has a sort of maturity rare in era of anime.
>>
>>86304504
I'll be totally honest; I am mainly venting out of my ass, and I wasn't thinking at all when I wrote my post. I knew it was mostly incorrect as I was creating it, but that didn't stop me.
>>
>>86304580
That's okay dude, I feel there's a glut of anime as well. But if you know what to look for there's always something interesting. I'd highly recommend Rakugo if you haven't seen it.
>>
>>86304684
I'll consider watching it. Thanks.
>>
>>86302714
Because Anno and Miyazaki are friends. In fact, Miyazaki's got a cameo in Anno's Godzilla movie as a scientist
>>
>>86304743
And Anno voiced the main character in Miyazaki's plane porn movie.
>>
>>86302778
Anno doesn't hate otakus, he just wants them to reach their full potential. it's more of a pity thing than a hate thing.
>>
>>86304743
Man, I really hope they'll screen the new Godzilla movie in Norway.
>>
>>86304769
>to reach their full potential
To become even greater failures?
>>
>>86301566
Probably Miyazaki.
>>
I heard The Wind Rises is a loose biography of some engineer in ww2 Japan

But despite that

Is it good for what it is?
>>
>>86305304
It's actually pretty decent. It's very sentimental, kind of fitting for Miyazaki's last film.
>>
>>86302778
He doesn't have them. He has big history with being a depressed shut in
>>
>>86304580
More honesty then you'll get from nearly any shitposter on this site.
>>
>>86301566

Miyazaki hated Yoshiyuki Tomino of all people.

Beat Takeshi is right about Miyazaki. Dude's a cunt. I'd say he hated anime more than Moore hated comics. Moore liked comics, he just hated the companies behind them.
>>
>>86304145
What kind of ideas would they have? I dont want capes to die entirely.
