Then when he can match Godspeed's speed after that they fight at intense speeds reaching merging with the speedforce limits Meera who didn't die but merged shows up to deal the final blow.

He felt powerless within the legal system to do what he wanted -- bring in the guy who he knew killed his brother.

Now he's been granted power, and that power is almost enough to do anything he wants. He found out his unique thing was he could pull a Daniel West and get stronger by killing people connected to the Speed Force.

He's your typical absolute power corrupts kind of guy. He knew Barry wouldn't allow him to do what he wanted with his powers, so he bided his time until he became more powerful.

Ok now I love this book, I love Rebirth and I love Wally for bringing back so much stuff.

I'm really just not feeling this story.

It's like the worst parts of Daniel West + Hunter Zolomon. The Flash's police friend betrays him! And he's eating other Speed Force users to get strong!

But we don't have the trigger that was so important in Zolomon betraying Wally on a personal level and Daniel West was killing speedsters with a goal -- August already has his goal and he's just doing it to do it.

It's not terrible, it just feels really uninspired and stretched out.

I wish I had that page that told the story of the first time Zoom when to the past and visited the Flash museum only to find out that he was the Reverse Flash.

The reveal was tragically predictable (especially considering how great August's original costume was), but the execution was absolutely SICK.

The duplicate bit was a good reveal though.

The Rival was way back in the Golden Age. And we've had half a dozen reboots since then.

Plus there's no such thing as the JSA on Nu52 Earth. Those character dont exist here anymore. Theyve been moved to Earth 2. So Rival isnt relevant anymore
